Su Bai rescued Lorimas from the Hotel and exposed Jialan’s role in the experiments before the burning Hotel returned the surviving players to the real world. Back at school, Su Bai encountered three students and a group of players trapped in a nightmare version of the campus.

• Zhu Nian paralyzed Lian Xiangyu and Shen Dong'er, but Su Bai resisted her needles, knocked her unconscious, and helped the others escape the Infirmary.
• Su Bai confronted Cheng Xun in the Garden, saved Shen Dong'er from his blade, and burned an Experimental Subject after learning she could not be restored.
• Su Bai found Lorimas chained in the Hidden Laboratory and carried her out, then discovered that Waiter Number One was Jialan, who had known about and supported the experiments.
• Lorimas asked Su Bai to end her suffering and gave him her remaining life force, while his blue flames sealed the Hotel and trapped Jialan, Cheng Xun, and their accomplices.
• Su Bai left the Hotel with Lorimas, who explained how she had brought humans there before turning into foam, and his flames consumed the Hotel and Rose Sea.
• The Administrator returned Su Bai to the real world, where he resumed studying and arranged for the high heels to be sold to cover his debts.
• Zhang Pan, Zhou Qingshou, and Ai Xiaojia became trapped at Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School alongside three Nightmare World players investigating the campus’s seven mysteries.
• The students and players entered the library and found Su Bai studying, then learned he recognized them and understood the school had become a temporary nightmare space.

Su Bai helped the students survive the Seven Mysteries of the Campus, then entered Fog City, where he opened a shop and encountered players exploiting its residents. The stretch ended as Su Bai noticed a familiar figure with Kai Xin.

• Ai Xiaojia and the others found Su Bai alive, and he joined them as they investigated the campus mysteries beneath the Red Moon.
• At the girls’ restroom mirror, Su Bai and the players exposed a shadow that copied people and photographed its true form.
• Su Bai filmed the basketball ghost and led the group through the Death Screening Room, where they defeated a shadow posing as Jia Yan.
• Su Bai concluded that the campus shadows embodied students’ emotions, and the students woke outside with only vague memories as he moved on to Fog City.
• The Administrator explained Fog City’s ten Eternal Lamps and its wealth-based hero-candidate system before sending Su Bai into the city.
• Su Bai opened the Mist Shop and painted the Angel Fountain, using Qing Lan’s ability to see the mutilated angels beneath its illusion.
• Meng Wei asked Su Bai for a hundred thousand under pressure from other players, but Su Bai refused and dismissed him after paying his salary.
• Su Bai agreed to paint a wedding portrait for the player Feng Zhe and the Fog City resident Lan Yin, then saw a familiar figure crouched beside Kai Xin.

Su Bai rescued Qiu Lei from Bull Slayer’s gang, then watched the Dense Fog expose Fog City’s residents to the Red Moon and Ghost Creatures. After learning that Mayor Bai had created the city’s people as Clay Dolls and discovering a link between the Jin brothers’ Su Xuan and his own brother, Su Bai entered the fog with them and became lost.

• Su Bai hired Qiu Lei for the Mist Shop, but she left to help her former teammate, and Meng Wei brought Su Bai a ransom demand after Qiu Lei was kidnapped.
• Su Bai went with Meng Wei to Bull Slayer’s warehouse, where Qiu Lei and her teammates were held, and Feng Zhe intervened to free them.
• Feng Zhe and the others prepared to gather Players at the Mist Shop, but Dense Fog poured down over Fog City as the Players learned that Heroes had to light the Eternal Lamps.
• Su Bai saw Ghost Creatures emerge from Fog City residents exposed to the fog, and Feng Zhe killed Lan Yin after she began turning into a clay shell.
• Mayor Bai told Su Bai that Fog City’s residents were Clay Dolls with Ghost Creatures as souls, and Su Bai suspected Mayor Bai wanted to use Players as material for new dolls.
• Su Bai saved Jin Zheng and Jin Yi from a Ghost Creature, then learned that their missing teammate Su Xuan had lost the same little finger as his own brother.
• Jin Yi asked Su Bai to help find Lei Ming and Xia An'an in the Dense Fog Zone, offering information about Su Xuan, and Su Bai agreed to enter with the brothers.
• Su Bai followed the Jin brothers into the fog, where they could see only about a meter ahead and quickly lost their direction.

Su Bai led the Jin Family Brothers through the Dense Fog, learned more about Su Xuan, and reached the Mist Shop as Fog City began to fall apart. He lured the Fog City Lord into the shop, where the Ghost Shaman appeared and confronted him.

• Su Bai found Jin Zheng and Jin Yi in the Dense Fog, fought Ghost Creatures, and learned from Lei Ming and Xia An'an that Xia An'an had manipulated the brothers and pursued an inheritance.
• Su Bai questioned Xia An'an about Su Xuan, heard that Su Xuan had seemed like a monster who could keep Ghost Creatures away, and left her behind with Lei Ming.
• Su Bai brought Jin Zheng and Jin Yi through a battered door into the Mist Shop, where Xiao Wu awoke in the Thread-Wrapped Doll and explained that the fog was the Fog City Lord’s body.
• Su Bai left the shop with the Jin brothers, met Feng Zhe’s team in the fog, and led the Players out to Central Plaza as Fog City’s residents and streets began to mutate.
• Su Bai recognized the signs of Fog City’s collapse, left Jin Zheng and Jin Yi with Feng Zhe, and went after the Fog City Lord, who had repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt the city.
• Su Bai invited Mayor Bai into the Mist Shop, trapping the Fog City Lord inside as the shop’s power surged and the world outside froze behind the fog.
• The Ghost Shaman immobilized Su Bai and confronted the Fog City Lord, who recognized him as the Puppeteer who had inspired his Doll-making.
