Scorched Earth Destroyed by the Four Emperors
A few days later, a lone naval warship slowly sailed towards the Ohara Sea.
"Wait, Dr. Vegapunk, that's an island where the Four Emperors roam. Wouldn't it be a bit... a bit... to just go there like that?"
The accompanying naval personnel tried to dissuade him, their faces filled with worry.
What if this being, whose technology is 500 years ahead of humanity, the world's best scientist, encounters danger in Ohara, and the Navy's high command comes forward to hold him accountable?
"Alright, alright, the life radar isn't completely unresponsive. The Four Emperors, who roam the high seas, won't linger on a worthless scorched earth."
"I'm just going to offer some flowers, it won't take long."
Dressed in a black suit, Vegapunk, whose tongue seemed to be hanging out and couldn't be pulled back, spoke frankly, leaving the many escorting marines looking at each other in bewilderment.
Left with no other choice, the accompanying guards had to nod in agreement. After the warship docked at the shore of Ohara, a large number of naval personnel were on guard around the island.
Vegapunk walked alone toward the Tree of Knowledge, and as he looked around, he couldn't help but sigh softly.
"To die on the path of pursuing knowledge and truth, that's really your character, Clover..."
Just as Vegapunk approached the Tree of Knowledge, two towering figures came into view from the edge of a nearby lake, startling Vegapunk greatly.
"Giants, why are there giants here?"
Without thinking, he hid behind a mound of earth, but no matter how he tried to hide, his head, which was as tall as Giant Race, was of no use.
Suddenly, a gentle breeze brushed against my face, and a steady male voice sounded from behind.
"Why did you come to Ohara, Dr. Vegapunk? But you're still the same as ever!"
The next moment, a breeze formed, and Northern California Punk looked back, his surprise turning into astonishment.
The man was wearing a dark green overcoat, with his full head of black hair casually draped behind his head, and he had no eyebrows.
"Dragon?"
"Except for your head, which is getting bigger and bigger."
Vegapunk looked away and changed the subject.
"That's not important, but why are you here?"
"It's nothing, I just have a bit of a connection with Uncle Clover here."
Monkey D. Dragon, the current Freedom Army Captain, glanced around at the scorched earth ravaged by the Navy, and a sense of unease rose in his heart.
"So you're the same way. But that's understandable, considering you're an old rascal who's traveled the whole world..."
"However, the claim that this guy, obsessed with history, intends to awaken Ancient Weapon to destroy the world is a foolish manipulation of public opinion, but there are just too many idiots in this world..."
Despite talking to the dragon, his gaze kept drifting towards the giant.
"You care about them a lot?"
"The precious knowledge that clover and countless historians have risked their lives to protect cannot be taken away by them so brazenly."
Facing the cautious Vegapunk, Dragon spoke in a gentle tone, but the joy of reuniting with an old friend was more or less dampened by the scorched earth.
"It's alright. They came from Elbaf, the land of giants, and they know the value of these books very well."
"Speaking of which, the captain of these giants is a strange man whose whole body is wrapped in bandages. He said he would protect these treasures that Ohara was fighting so hard to protect, no matter what."
"Fortunately, it wasn't discovered by your ' World Government,' and fortunately, that man appeared on Ohara and claimed to the Marine Government that he had stolen Ohara's treasures."
During their somber conversation, the two unknowingly walked to the tombstone named Ohara and put down the flowers they were holding.
However, before Long could speak again, a refreshing aroma of wine spread on the wind, and the two looked up into the distance.
Only then did they discover that a towering tree had appeared out of nowhere on the scorched earth of Ohara.
Inside the treehouse hanging from the branches, a gentle and refined man with a soft smile was watching the two with great interest.
"Long time no see, Dr. Vegapunk. The other one looks somewhat familiar. I sense the wind emanating from you. Who is Garp to you?"
In an instant, Dragon froze on the spot, while Vegapunk shook his head repeatedly, staring at Huayue with a wary expression.
"Uchiha Huayue? Why? It's not just rumors that you destroyed Ohara with your own hands, so why are you staying in this scorched earth?"
"It just so happens that the news I heard before I arrived was that the Four Emperors, in order to awaken the Ancient Weapon, joined forces with researchers in Ohara to secretly study the Poneglyph."
"I only found out from that Burned Captain that it was caused by the Marine Government's Buster Call. So what is your purpose, Four Emperors?"
The dragon looked solemn, took two steps forward, and asked loudly.
"Purpose? I merely made a deal with Professor Clover here, using the knowledge of Ohara as the price to protect the heritage of the world's largest library."
Having said that, Huayue smiled enigmatically. Long remained silent for a moment before turning his attention to Vegapunk.
"It seems this Four Emperors is an acquaintance of yours. I was quite startled when I heard you joined the World Government, even though you rejected our Freedom Fighters ' invitation..."
Seeing Long's serious expression, Vegapunk snorted coldly, his tone helpless.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Even with my wisdom and technology, what can you produce without a huge amount of financial resources? What can a poor army like yours provide for me?"
Dragon felt helpless with Vegapunk's blunt words as always, but Vegapunk's remarks only fueled his anger.
"Besides, there are many reasonable people in the navy..."
"I know, but this is truly intolerable. Just for questioning something unreasonable, they've massacred these defenseless scholars..."
"Just wait and see, Vegapunk, I'm going to build an army that can fight!"
Clap clap clap clap!
Applause rang out continuously. Huayue appeared beside the two of them at some point and threw the blood capsule to Long.
"You have ambition, I admire that. Could you please provide me with some excellent blood samples, preferably from Devil Fruit Ability User? In return..."
Huayue murmured softly, a hint of hesitation flashing in Long's eyes, before finally gritting her teeth and nodding.
After all, building an army requires resources, and even if a revolution is needed, the troops under one's command cannot be allowed to go hungry.
Seeing this, Vegapunk finally couldn't help but ask the question that had been bothering him.
"You collected so many Devil Fruit Ability User Lineage Factor just for research? I don't believe it. What is your real purpose?"
Huayue smiled without saying a word, put away the dragon's Lineage Factor, and handed him a map.
"This is Captain John's secret burial site, where most of the Rocks Pirates' wealth is hidden. How you use it or how you seize it is entirely up to you. It has nothing to do with me."
"As for your question, Vegapunk, I will personally uncover the mystery decades from now. Stay tuned."
