Arthas nodded slightly.
Although he did not understand why Rhode had rambled on about so many seemingly irrelevant things, telling him to keep the Holy Light in mind could hardly be wrong.
Still, this mage really was a little strange. A moment ago, he had called the Holy Light some kind of energy, seemingly lacking any reverence for it, yet now he was telling Arthas to listen to the Holy Light... How contradictory!
As for Rhode, he had no idea whether his speech would actually help, but it was a worthwhile attempt regardless.
At least if Arthas truly faced something like the dilemma of Stratholme one day, remembering even a little of what Rhode had told him today would count for something.
By then, the rain was gradually stopping. Sally had almost finished building the stove, and Kienlo had returned with an armful of mushrooms.
There were plenty of dry branches around the ruined walls. They had been sheltered from the rain, so they could serve as firewood, saving Rhode from having to keep cooking with Fireball.
Animals were everywhere in the wilderness of the Hillsbrad Foothills, and before long, Lilia returned carrying her quarry: a deer.
She was quite strong by now and could easily carry a small deer back.
"Come on, we're having mushroom and venison soup tonight!" Sally said. Then she slit the little deer's belly open with a dagger and laid it on the stove.
A stone slab lay across the stove now, serving as a temporary chopping board.
"By the way, want to try something new? Stone-grilled meat, for instance?" Rhode suddenly asked, looking at the slab.
"Never had it."
"Never had it."
Everyone shook their heads.
Kienlo looked at Rhode, feeling that she was in for another treat today.
