"What brings you here, Mr. Audric?" Rhode quickly rose from his recliner and went to greet him.

Rhode held this friendly mage in considerable respect.

"I came to say goodbye." Audric looked a little dejected. "My mission here has failed."

"Failed? You mean..." Rhode had almost forgotten what mission Audric, this "secret agent," had been carrying out here.

Audric shook his head. "All this time, I've been watching and investigating Hearthglen for anything connected to Dark Magic, but I've found absolutely nothing."

Oh, right. The Dark Magic business.

Rhode suddenly thought of Jandice Barov, who had tried to assassinate him two days earlier.

She had clearly known how to use Dark Magic, and her connection to Kel'Thuzad had been just as obvious.

Since Blackmoore had kept the news under wraps, very few people knew about the assassination attempt. Naturally, Audric knew nothing about it either.

Telling Audric about this might give him a lead.

Rhode was about to speak when Audric continued, "Two days ago, I received intelligence that Kel'Thuzad had indeed secretly established some sort of cult and sent someone to Durnholde Keep to make contact with Hearthglen. I kept watch for two days without sleeping, but I never saw any outsider come to see him..."

Audric spat bitterly. "Dalaran's intelligence is getting less reliable by the day. All that work for nothing."

A cult?

Could it be the Cult of the Damned?

That seemed a little earlier than the timeline I knew...
