The Two Great Empires Received Them in Person! Take Us to These People
Meanwhile, aboard the Jingming.
Lingxiao stood before the porthole, looking through the glass at the Douluo Continent outside.
Meager spiritual energy, scattered cities-even the sky was a murky gray.
A trace of disdain flashed in her eyes.
"What a backwater."
Beside her, Ao Che cradled the Abyss-Suppressing Dragon Spear, waved a hand, and nodded.
"I guessed they were frogs at the bottom of a well, but who knew the well was this deep?"
"Fifty thousand years ago, I read through the history books. Even in our uncivilized era, things weren't this bad."
Jun Mowen merely glanced outside and said nothing.
But his eyes were filled with disdain.
Lingxiao withdrew her gaze, genuine admiration seeping into her voice.
"That's all thanks to how great the Holy Spirit God King is!"
"He led fourteen Supreme God Kings, swept away every rival, and established a unified realm!"
"Then he bestowed countless opportunities upon us, giving us everything we have today."
Jun Mowen and Ao Che exchanged glances and nodded in unison.
They agreed with those words from the bottom of their hearts.
Especially Jun Mowen.
He might have been a man of few words!
But throughout his lifetime of cultivation, he had only one goal!
To stand shoulder to shoulder with the fifteen God Kings who rivaled natural disasters!
He had thought that after obtaining the Super Divine Artifact, Nameless, even if he could not stand alongside them, he would at least not fall too far short.
But only after witnessing Lords Rey and Soronson take action firsthand!
Did he realize that even among God Kings, the difference could be as vast as heaven and earth!
Those two nonchalant figures had taught him a lesson through the most effortless of battles.
The road ahead was still long.
So long... that its end lay beyond reach!
Lingxiao glanced at the two of them and turned to leave.
"I'll go inform the two lor...!"
Before she could finish, an icy voice rang out.
"No need. We're here!"
All three looked over at once?
Two small fissures opened in the space inside the cabin, and two figures slowly emerged from them.
Rey!
Soronson!
All three cupped their hands in unison.
"Lord Rey! Lord Soronson!"
Rey nodded in acknowledgment.
Soronson ignored them, walking straight to the porthole to look at the continent outside, clicking his tongue and shaking his head.
"Tsk, tsk... how utterly-disgusting!"
Then the five of them went outside the Jingming together.
The enormous ship hovered at the continent's edge.
Rey looked out and saw countless houses packed together like scales on a fish and teeth on a comb.
Yet every household had its doors and windows shut tight. The streets were deserted, without even a single bark to be heard.
"Are they really this afraid of us?"
He raised his eyebrows slightly.
"Not a single person!"
Soronson swept a languid glance over the scene.
"No need to bother with any of this."
"Just find those people. As for everyone else..."
"We can't slaughter innocents."
Rey interrupted him, his tone serious.
"Especially not ordinary civilians. You represent the Holy Spirit Continent. If word spreads of indiscriminate slaughter, it'll reflect badly on us!"
Soronson curled his lip.
"The righteous side has so many rules!"
Lingxiao, beside them, had no time for their bickering.
She gazed at the tightly shuttered cities below, her brows drawing together slightly.
"But they really are cowards. Not a single person has come out to stop us."
"If I remember correctly, weren't those loudmouths either 'sect masters' or members of the 'number one power'?"
"They certainly ran fast."
Soronson suddenly narrowed his lone eye, looking toward the continent's depths.
"Who said no one's coming?"
"I can sense a great many presences. It should be an army."
"But without exception, they're all utter trash."
The corner of his mouth lifted.
"Even their leaders are trash."
Lingxiao frowned, immediately closing her eyes to sense them carefully.
A moment later, she opened her eyes and nodded.
Indeed.
Densely packed presences were surging toward them from the continent's heartland.
Before long!
Dust billowed at the edge of the sky, and banners blotted out the sun!
The armies of the Heaven Dou Empire and the Star Luo Empire had arrived!
The dark mass of troops stretched as far as the eye could see, the footsteps of hundreds of thousands making the earth rumble.
The two nations' battle flags snapped in the wind.
Rank upon rank of Soul Master formations stood at the front, their Soul Power fluctuations joining into a vast ocean!
On the Douluo Continent, such a force could truly be considered the full might of their nations.
Unfortunately-!
Beneath the Jingming's shadow, this army mustered with the full might of two nations was as tiny as a swarm of ants raising their heads toward a giant!
Ao Che stared at the army below in disbelief.
"Are they... staking their lives on a fight with us?"
Lingxiao glanced at Soronson and asked for instructions.
"My lord, shall we blanket them with cannon fire?"
Soronson stood with his hands behind his back, his lone eye indifferent.
"If they'd offered fine food and drink with a sincere attitude, I could have let it go."
After all, these people were not why they had come.
"But since this is how it is..."
"Get ready!"
Lingxiao nodded, raising her hand to press the control panel exposed on her left arm.
Hummm-!!
In an instant, all three hundred and sixty secondary cannons on the Jingming's thousand-meter hull rose, swiveled, and locked on.
The dense mass of cannon muzzles all pointed at the army on the ground!
At the sight, the allied forces of the two great empires were instantly scared out of their wits!
Hundreds of thousands of troops froze in place.
The soldiers in the front ranks trembled at the knees. Those in the rear had no idea what had happened, seeing only the faces in front turn white in unison!
Just then-
Boom! Boom!
At the centers of the two great formations, attendants frantically pushed aside two imperial canopies!
Two figures tottered out.
Xue Ye and the Star Luo Emperor!
The two sovereigns who ruled the continent's two great empires.
Now, in their panic, even their crowns sat crooked as they shouted toward the sky at the tops of their lungs.
"Don't!! We aren't here to fight!!! We're here to surrender! Don't fire!"
"Yes, yes! We've come to welcome you esteemed lords from afar! We're here to receive you! We-we've even brought countless treasures!!"
Lingxiao glanced at Soronson and Rey, asking for instructions.
"My lords, shall we still fire?"
Rey waved a hand.
"No need to fire."
"Perfect. I was just wondering how to find the people who mocked us!"
The corner of his mouth rose.
"Now we have guides!"
With that, Rey was the first to descend to the ground.
Ao Che, Jun Mowen, Soronson, and Lingxiao followed closely behind.
The figures floated down from the enormous ship and landed before the allied army.
Xue Ye and the Star Luo Emperor hurriedly jogged over.
They ran so hastily that the two sovereigns nearly stumbled, only steadying themselves by supporting each other.
Then they straightened their clothes and crowns and respectfully cupped their hands toward the group.
They introduced themselves in full detail, giving their nations' names, their titles, and their purpose in coming.
Once finished, they stood in attendance with their hands lowered, not daring to breathe loudly.
Soronson swept a glance over them and sneered.
"The two emperors of the Douluo Continent? Ruling over more than half the Douluo Continent!"
"One Titled Douluo, and one who isn't even a Titled Douluo..."
"Tsk, tsk... what trash."
Both smiled awkwardly, sweat appearing on their foreheads.
"Yes, yes! We're trash..."
Xue Ye nodded repeatedly, adopting a more humble posture than anyone.
"We certainly can't compare with such great figures as yourselves!"
But Soronson narrowed his lone eye.
"Trash?"
"When you were running your mouths on the Heavenly Screen, you never said you were trash. We were the ones you were insulting!"
"What? No more insults now?"
Those words struck the two of them so hard their scalps tingled.
Enveloped by that inexplicable pressure, both emperors' legs went weak!
Thud! Thud!
Before hundreds of thousands of troops, they both dropped to their knees!
The Star Luo Emperor's face was deathly pale, and even his voice trembled.
"N-no... it wasn't us! Not a single member of our Star Luo Imperial Family said anything!!"
"Yes, yes!"
Xue Ye kowtowed as rapidly as a pestle pounding garlic.
"It was all the doing of the Upper Three Sects, Spirit Hall, and Shrek Academy! We hold all of you from the Holy Spirit Continent in the highest esteem!!"
Soronson loomed above them, his lone eye gazing indifferently down at the two kneeling emperors.
"In that case-"
"Then take me to these people."
"Otherwise... if you provoke my wrath!"
"You will all die!"
