Background / History

Service to the Holy Spirit God King

Soronson arrived on the Holy Spirit Continent fifty thousand years before the expedition against Douluo. Already possessing God King-level combat strength when summoned, he followed Lin Yan in campaigns across the continent. His battles became so remote in history that only veterans who had lived for fifty thousand years had witnessed him fight 2 24 41.

Under Lin Yan’s rule, Soronson oversaw soul-beast affairs. When Lin Yan awakened, Soronson reported that the beasts were thriving, with at least thirty Million-Year Soul Beasts living on the continent 1.

Heavenly Screen Dispute

When the Heavenly Screen connected the two continents, Soronson initially knew nothing of Douluo’s cultivation terminology and expressed interest in testing himself against its fighters. His curiosity turned to contempt as Douluo’s representatives repeatedly disparaged the Holy Spirit Continent 2 11.

He mocked Yu Xiaogang’s claim that soul beasts enslaved humanity, then requested permission to descend upon Douluo and kill its outspoken critics—particularly Yu Xiaogang. After Lin Yan identified the Divine Realm’s gods as the source of hostile surveillance, Soronson also volunteered to fight them 7 13 20.

Expedition to Sea God Island

Soronson volunteered for the vanguard after the Holy Spirit Temple declared war. Lin Yan appointed him and Holy Thunder Rey as joint commanders, supported by Ao Che, Jun Mowen, Lingxiao, and the Azure Abyss Ancient Whale 23 24.

Traveling aboard the Jingming, Soronson anticipated confronting Bo Saixi over her insults. He initially remained aboard while the other fighters engaged, serving with Rey as backup so that Ao Che, Jun Mowen, and Lingxiao could gain experience 29 32 35.

When the Asura God attacked Rey, Soronson intervened through a spatial rift. His Annihilation Light destroyed the Asura Demon Sword before its strike could descend, gravely injuring the Asura God and disrupting his divine power 40 41.

Soronson then appeared before the Sea God and tore off one of his arms. Rejecting the Asura God’s assumption that he was the Holy Spirit Continent’s strongest fighter, Soronson declared that fifteen beings on the continent surpassed the Asura God. He also explicitly denied being responsible for obstructing the earlier Divine Sense investigation 42.

The Asura God withdrew before Soronson’s Evil Spirit Demon Flash could hit him. Soronson subsequently tore out the Sea God’s remaining arm and tongue, but obeyed the requirement to leave him alive for Lin Yan. He ordered Lingxiao to imprison the Sea God, take Bo Saixi along, and kill any surviving island Soul Masters who resisted 43 44.

Campaign Against Douluo’s Factions

Upon reaching Douluo, Soronson encountered Xue Ye and the Star Luo Emperor, whose armies had come to surrender. He forced both rulers to their knees, demanded directions to the factions responsible for the Heavenly Screen insults, and rejected their offer to make their nations subordinate to the Holy Spirit Continent 49 50.

Bibi Dong’s Wager and the Far North Pursuit

Soronson absorbed Bibi Dong’s Ninth Soul Skill without changing his stance, then pierced her chest with a Chaos counterattack. His power shattered her Martial Souls and devoured her cultivation, while deliberately keeping her alive 60.

He intended to use her to draw Yu Xiaogang out. When Bibi Dong insisted that Yu Xiaogang would save her if survival were possible, Soronson offered to release them both if he came in person. If Yu Xiaogang failed to appear, Bibi Dong was to acknowledge her humiliation and end her own life 60.

Yu Xiaogang did not come, and Bibi Dong suffered a mental collapse. Soronson kept her alive and brought her along rather than killing her 62 64.

In the Far North, Soronson spread purplish-black Chaos mist through the ice fields, valleys, crevices, and caves. The mist returned moments later, revealing Yu Xiaogang’s hiding place 64.

Appearance

• Early depiction: Black eyes, a surrounding black aura, and a habitual stance with his hands behind his back 2 13.
• Chaos Demon Lord appearance: A single scarlet eye with a vertical pupil, eight Crimson Crystal Wings, swirling Chaos Black Mist, and a Chaos Ring behind him 40 42 48.
• Tentacles: Manifests pitch-black tentacles from his mist, including eight used together to tear open space 44 51.
• Impression: Soul Engineers aboard the Jingming describe him as handsome, but find his presence considerably more stressful than Rey’s 29.

Personality

Soronson is fiercely loyal to Lin Yan and treats insults against his lord or the Holy Spirit Continent as grounds for violent retaliation. He eagerly requests battle, yet respects Lin Yan’s authority over prisoners: despite mutilating the Sea God, he explicitly acknowledges that the captive must remain alive for his lord to judge 13 24 44.

His cruelty is deliberate and theatrical. He enjoys humiliating enemies, prolonging their fear, and turning their former boasts against them. He preserves Yu Yuanzhen’s terrified expression by collecting his severed head and kills Spirit Hall’s leaders partly to provoke fear in Bibi Dong 51 52 59.

He particularly despises betrayal and cowardly attempts to evade shared responsibility. He condemns the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan elders for abandoning their leader, while showing limited approval of Tang Xiao’s refusal to kneel and willingness to fight. That approval does not spare Tang Xiao from execution 51 53.

Rey acts as a restraint on his conduct. Soronson complains that the “righteous side” has too many rules when Rey forbids indiscriminate killing, but later leaves Shrek Academy intact after Flender provides information and Rey signals his support for sparing the students 49 58.

Soronson’s principal power manifests as black mist, purplish-black Qi, and intertwined crimson-black energy 40 43 53.
