Ye Han claimed the Despair Treasure Chest and survived the Crescent Moon Flying Boat by cultivating a spirit body, then escaped the Land of Despair with the Immortal-Thief Outsider. They found a Divine Vessel beneath the Tower of Hell, but still had to discover how to set it moving.

• Teacher Lan Qing gave Ye Han the Golden Key and led him toward the Despair Treasure Chest, but the possessor of Lan Qing’s body attacked and eventually escaped with his body and soul.
• Ye Han resisted the voices calling him back, climbed the staircase, and flew to the chest with the Purple Cauldron’s help, which swallowed the chest before the Crescent Moon Flying Boat impaled him and carried away his body.
• Ye Han cultivated a spirit body inside the Purple Cauldron Space with help from the Ten-Thousand-Year Water Spirit, then reclaimed his physical body and smashed the flying boat’s crescent hook.
• The Purple Cauldron carried Ye Han through a barrier, where he discovered it had opened the chest and revealed a five-colored gourd, while the Immortal-Thief Outsider found him and asked about Lan Qing.
• Ye Han and the Immortal-Thief Outsider headed for the Gate of Despair, where the Hell Messenger was fighting Spirit-Devouring Beasts, and Ye Han killed the Messenger with a massive sword strike.
• The Purple Cauldron absorbed the Yin-Yang Pearl from the Hell Messenger’s corpse and released the treasures stored inside it, while Ye Han’s sword strike cracked the floor beneath them.
• Ye Han and the Immortal-Thief Outsider found a crescent-shaped Divine Vessel below the Tower of Hell, entered it using the Outsider’s Formation Disk, and surveyed its vast deck without knowing how to propel it.

Ye Han and his allies crossed the Gods and Devils River and joined forces against the Chaos King, whose power they overcame by cutting off his access to chaos energy. Afterward, they divided the spoils and agreed to keep cooperating in their attempt to escape the Tower of Hell.

• Ye Han and the Immortal-Thief Outsider crossed the Gods and Devils River aboard the Crescent Moon Divine Vessel, then fled into a mountain cave as the Chaos King pursued them.
• Ye Han followed Saint As’s guidance through the cave and helped free him by striking the Sky-Piercing Pillars with five-elements essence blood.
• Ye Han and Saint As fought the Chaos King, but his chaos laws and replenishing power kept them on the defensive until Teacher Lan Qing’s barrier and the Immortal-Thief Outsider’s treasure chest cut off his access to chaos energy.
• Teacher Lan Qing and Ye Han attacked the weakened Chaos King, and Ye Han killed him with the Absolute Frost Divine Sword at the cost of dropping a Nascent Soul Realm level.
• Ye Han recovered the Chaos King’s body, trapped his remnant soul, and discovered a small gold-and-silver-rune cauldron inside the corpse that resonated with the Purple Cauldron.
• Ye Han, Saint As, Teacher Lan Qing, and the Immortal-Thief Outsider escaped the frozen storm and discussed dividing the Chaos King’s spoils while agreeing to cooperate to escape the Tower of Hell.

After escaping the Heavenly Secret Hall, Ye Han recovered from his injuries and traveled to the Northern Lu Province Continent, where he learned the Northern Lu Immortal Sect was hunting Ye Tianyu, a man tied to his origins. At the Sea King Sect, Ye Han pursued a treasure sought by the Purple Cauldron and waited for news of the Azure Phoenix Fairy, whose situation had become dire.

• Saint As gave Ye Han a Purple Bead and Spirit Transformation Spirit Liquid, and Ye Han, Teacher Lan Qing, and the Immortal-Thief Outsider Race member escaped the Tower of Hell through the Heavenly Secret Hall.
• Teacher Lan Qing explained that ancient humans had been scattered and oppressed by the immortal and devil races, then warned Ye Han not to use the Nine-Turn Vajra Art because the Northern Lu Immortal Sect monitored the Azure Profound Sect.
• Ye Han recovered in a concealed abode, suppressed the Gods-and-Devils Hand’s demonization, and forged the Thunderous Five-Element Golden Cudgel, using it to destroy a Heavenly Tribulation.
• Ye Han defeated Dao Tianji’s clone at the Teleportation Array, evaded Dao Tianji’s pursuit, and used a Teleportation Talisman to leave the Heavenly Secret Hall for the Earth Realm.
• Ye Han and White Snow saved the Sea King from sea beasts, and Murong Xian told Ye Han that the Northern Lu Immortal Sect had issued a wanted notice for Ye Tianyu whose portrait resembled him.
• At the Sea King Sect, Ye Han examined the notice and learned the Northern Lu Immortal Sect wanted Ye Tianyu for a rumored treasure or secrets of ascension, while Murong Haiyue agreed to investigate him and the Azure Phoenix Fairy.
• Ye Han pursued a treasure that attracted the Purple Cauldron and studied alchemy to prepare a Soul-Restoring Pill, while the Third Young Master learned Ye Han might be Ye Tianyu and questioned the old man about Murong Xian.
• Ye Han successfully refined more than twenty Six-Turn True Qi Pills, then Murong Xian told him the Azure Phoenix Fairy’s situation was bad.

Ye Han foiled the Northern Lu Immortal Sect and Canghai Household’s scheme, rescued Azure Phoenix Fairy, and left the Northern Lu Province with her and Murong Xian. As they sailed toward Heaven's Mandate Continent, Ye Han and Azure Phoenix Fairy confessed their feelings before the group fought sea demons at the Cape of the Ends of the World.

• Ye Han returned to Sea King Island, defeated the Third Young Master, and helped the Sea King escape while Murong Haiyue fought the Canghai Household and Northern Lu Immortal Sect.
• Ye Han captured and subdued the Snow Sea Dragon King, killed Elder Canghai and his followers, and learned that Ye Tianyu had appeared in Thousand Mountain Valley.
• Ye Han reunited with Azure Phoenix Fairy after rescuing her from Northern Lu Immortal Sect cultivators, but she said she had never found Ye Tianyu and urged Ye Han to return to Heaven's Mandate Continent.
• Murong Xian learned that her father’s life soul token had shattered, and Ye Han agreed to travel with her and Azure Phoenix Fairy after the teleportation array proved destroyed.
• During the voyage, Ye Han healed his injured arm through the Cold Art, and Azure Phoenix Fairy broke through her bottleneck before confessing her love for him.
• Ye Han and Azure Phoenix Fairy defeated a Single-Eyed Black Flood Dragon, and Ye Han gained insight into the ice elemental law while they continued toward Heaven's Mandate Continent.
• When sea demons besieged the Cape of the Ends of the World, Ye Han’s group joined the battle, drove back the attackers, and forced the Two-Headed Shark Emperor to retreat.
