Sakazuki chuckled on the other end of the Den Den Mushi:
"All right. As long as everything's fine."
"Get some rest. You won't have such leisurely assignments in the future."
Carol laughed too:
"Understood."
"Good night, Admiral Sakazuki."
Sakazuki's voice came through:
"Good night."
Click-
The sound of the Den Den Mushi disconnecting rang out.
Carol set down the Den Den Mushi and looked at the faint firelight on the distant peak:
"She's... grown up."
Unlike her years of wandering in the original story, Robin had only wandered briefly before Carol took her in.
Several years had passed in a flash...
The child had grown up... and it was time for her to leave.
North Blue, the Donquixote Family's base.
Among the ruins at the back of Spider Miles Island.
Luo sat with his arms around his knees, gazing out at the sea, his face blank and his thoughts unreadable.
So many days had passed, but that awful bastard!!!!
Whenever he thought of Corazon, Luo couldn't help burning with anger. Corazon had abused him far too many times over the past few days.
But he hadn't given up. If anything, his resolve had only hardened.
He was even more determined to join the Donquixote Family. He would gain power as quickly as possible!!!!
And destroy everything!!!!
Gurgle, gurgle-
His lofty ambitions vanished in an instant as his stomach's cries dragged him back to reality.
Staying alive came first. He glanced at the sun. It was about time. He rose somewhat weakly.
He headed toward the Donquixote Family's base. At least... they still fed him.
He hadn't gone far before he heard Buffalo's somewhat shrill shout:
"Food's ready!!!"
Luo's face lit up, and he quickened his pace.
But as soon as he entered the base, he spotted that smoking "bastard."
