Arc 1The Fall of God Valley

Sakazuki joined the Marines and fought in the battle of God Valley, where he helped destroy Rocks’s forces and trigger the island’s eruption. Afterward, he chose to patrol the Four Seas, where pirate crews were spreading violence, and hurried toward another burning island.

  • Sakazuki joined the Marines, earned a captaincy, and reached Marineford’s elite training class after years of hunting pirates.

Sakazuki advanced through the Navy while confronting pirates, helping Cricket pursue the truth about Noland, and seeking peace between Skypiea’s peoples. The arc left Sakazuki and Carol with Enel after he ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.

  • Sakazuki crushed a pirate attack, rescued the town’s children, and inspired one boy to seek a place in the Marines.
  • Sakazuki received his Vice Admiral promotion, gave Morris his Faith and Justice booklet, and led his crew through training and a battle with the Kuja Pirates.

Arc 3The Sgrily Sea War

Sakazuki took Enel and Bullet under his wing while pursuing pirates and building the Marines’ strength. The story left Sakazuki locked in battle with Whitebeard as Roger, Garp, Sengoku, Zephyr, and Shiki fought across the Sgrily Sea.

  • Sakazuki fought Roger on Kegesi Island, then escaped the collapsing battlefield and returned to Marine duty with Enel.
  • Sakazuki introduced Enel to Kong and entrusted his education to Morris before leading the attack that killed Byrnndi World and his crew.
  • Three years later, Carol rescued Douglas Bullet from the Wheel Pirate Crew, and Bullet joined the Navy with Sakazuki and Carol.

Arc 4The Roaring Assault

After the Sgrily Naval Battle, Sakazuki recovered and strengthened his forces while testing Enel’s convictions against the Marines’ corruption and the world’s cruelty. He crushed Golden Lion’s fleet, planted the seeds of a revolution, and turned his attention to Kaido.

  • Sakazuki and Whitebeard fought to a devastating finish at Sgrily, where Whitebeard died after unleashing an attack that wrecked both fleets and left Sakazuki comatose.
  • After waking half a year later, Sakazuki formed the Roaring Assault Squad around Bullet, then arrested Vegapunk and his fellow MADS scientists while arranging for Enel to learn from Vegapunk.
  • Sakazuki showed Enel the slave trade, corrupt Marines, and the cruelty of the Celestial Dragons, then forced him to confront the cost of allowing even celebrated pirates to live.
  • Garp found Sengoku on Palini Island and restored his memories, while Golden Lion attacked G-3 Branch and drew Sakazuki and the Marines into a trap in the Lana Sea.
  • Sengoku and Garp ambushed Golden Lion, and Sakazuki helped destroy his fleet, though Golden Lion escaped with one arm lost.
