Arc 9Sakazuki’s Plans

Sakazuki pursued his campaign against pirates while shaping Marine weapons and setting plans in motion for a transformed world. As kings gathered for the Reverie, the Five Elders prepared for upheaval and a great purge.

  • Sakazuki crushed Hancock’s resistance, killed her sisters and Shakky, and forced Granny Nyon to accept the Shichibukai appointment while giving Amazon Lily three years to rebuild.
  • Shanks and Uta’s visit to Elegia ended in disaster when Uta unleashed Tot Musica, which destroyed the island before Shanks drove it away and left Uta in Gordon’s care.
  • Borsalino’s Marines ambushed Fisher Tiger and the Sun Pirates, and Fisher Tiger died after refusing a transfusion and revealing that he had been enslaved in Mary Geoise.
  • At Punk Hazard, Sakazuki and Vegapunk experimented on captured Devil Fruit users and developed weapons, while Caesar pursued a virus that could spread in freezing conditions.

Arc 10The Red Line Cannon

Sakazuki advances his plans to reshape the balance of power while Marines, pirates, and revolutionaries collide across the seas. The stretch ends with Sakazuki and Bullet fighting on a deserted island as Sengoku investigates Dragon’s identity.

  • Tom took responsibility for attacking the judicial ship to save Iceburg and Franky, and Franky was badly injured trying to stop the Sea Train from carrying Tom to Enies Lobby.
  • Sakazuki and Vegapunk judged Pluton’s full design impractical and planned to build its cannon on the Red Line, while Sakazuki said the government could erase islands and bury their history.

After a confrontation over Marine losses and alleged leaks, Sakazuki and Sengoku’s dispute erupted into a battle that drew in Enel, Kuzan, Bullet, and Garp before Kong intervened.

  • Sakazuki gave Bullet the More-More Fruit, then led him through a bloody purge of Sabaody’s Lawless Zone and forced Demora to help him target corrupt officials.
  • Sakazuki and Enel expanded their weapons research as Carol hunted Devil Fruit users, recovered several fruits, and delivered them to Vegapunk’s laboratory.
  • Dragon reorganized the Revolutionary Army and prepared for a worldwide uprising, while Shanks gained allies and rose to become the New World’s fourth Emperor and the World’s Greatest Swordsman.

Arc 12The Navy’s New War

Sakazuki became Fleet Admiral and launched a campaign to break the Four Emperors’ power, using a staged alliance with Kaido to draw Hale Nock and Shanks into conflict. The Navy’s offensive escalated into the destruction of Smir Harbor, while Enel and Shanks began a battle at Kroni Island.

  • After Sengoku accepted responsibility for the Navy’s division and resigned, Kong approved Sakazuki as his successor, while Sakazuki’s forces prepared for war in the New World.
  • Sakazuki and Carol coordinated attacks on Hale Nock’s arms network, and Bullet killed Bin Black, provoking Hale Nock as Kaido and Charlotte Linlin moved against his territory.
  • Sakazuki exploited the resulting conflict between Hale Nock and Shanks, then became Fleet Admiral and announced a worldwide military buildup, a Sabaody lockdown, and the Navy’s End Point threat.
