"Cthulhu," however, truly did ingest "brains." Yet the consciousnesses of all those brains were frenzied and warped. They formed a genuine "brain in a vat" world, with all the "secondary brains" collectively evolving a despairing virtual mental world.
Within the mental world of the entire consciousness entity controlling that flesh-and-blood body, nothing remained but madness, distortion, evil, and destruction.
