Early the next morning.
Genya stretched and got out of bed, feeling refreshed.
He made his way to Fugaku's house with practiced ease, greeted Itachi, who was doing his morning exercises in the courtyard, then headed straight upstairs and pushed open Sasuke's bedroom door.
The curtains were still drawn, and Sasuke was sound asleep.
Without the slightest ceremony, Genya strode over, whipped off the covers, grabbed Sasuke by the shoulders, and started shaking him.
"Sasuke! Get up! The sun's already high! Come on, let's go have some fun!"
Jolted awake by the sudden shaking, Sasuke opened his eyes groggily. When he saw Genya, his morning grumpiness surged. He slapped Genya's hands away and grumbled in displeasure.
"Genya, you bastard! Waking people up first thing in the morning! Are you dragging me along to be a third wheel again? Going on a date with your Hinata, Ino, or Nami?"
He knew all about the girls around Genya and had been forced to play the "background extra" several times himself.
Genya folded his arms and stood beside the bed, looking down at him with an expression that said, "Suit yourself."
"Oh? You don't want to go? Fine, then. I'll go have fun on my own."
He made as if to turn and leave.
"Wait!"
Sasuke snapped mostly awake and sprang out of bed.
"I'll go! Just give me a minute!"
He didn't want to stay home alone. Going out with Genya was much more fun than being bored at home or training under his father's watchful eye.
The corner of Genya's mouth lifted, and he waved without looking back.
"Hurry up. I'll wait downstairs. You little punk, you think I can't handle you?"
Sasuke scrambled into the bathroom.
Down in the courtyard, Genya walked over to Itachi.
Itachi had finished his morning
