Anyone whose resolve was weak or whose heart harbored pain could easily have been swayed.
Yet Genya did not interrupt him. He listened quietly, his expression unchanged, though his gaze grew colder and colder.
He turned his head and spoke to Itachi beside him.
"Do you see, Itachi? Extreme pain breeds extreme obsession. He's already living entirely within his own dream."
Itachi nodded. The Masked Man's madness and extremism were even more... pitiful than he had seemed during their brief encounter before.
When Obito's speech reached a pause, as though he were waiting for their response.
Only then did Genya step forward, his smile fading as he scrutinized him sharply.
"You call yourself Madara Uchiha..."
"Then, if I may ask, Elder Madara..."
Genya's gaze held undisguised doubt and provocation.
"What does your Mangekyō Sharingan look like? And what... is your ocular technique?"
He paused, his tone growing heavier.
"Words alone prove nothing. You want us to believe you're the legendary Asura of the Ninja World, to believe your theory of salvation through the Eye of the Moon Plan... then you'll have to show us something convincing, won't you?"
"After all..."
Genya's lips curved into a mocking smile.
"The Uchiha Clan has always believed in only one thing-power."
Obito fell silent.
His mask concealed his expression, but the light in his Sharingan flickered violently several times.
Clearly, Genya's pointed questions had struck the weakness he had always avoided confronting.
He was not the real Madara Uchiha. There were gaps between his abilities and his claimed identity that he could never fully bridge.
After several seconds, he spoke in a low voice, as though it carried the weariness of countless
