Background / History

Origins and Alienation

According to Sosuke’s account, Konoha was founded jointly by Hashirama Senju and the Uchiha ancestor Madara. Genya later identifies the Uchiha as direct descendants of the Sage of Six Paths and describes the Rinnegan as the ultimate culmination of their bloodline 20 180.

During the Warring States Era, the Uchiha defeated the Chinoike Clan. The Chinoike subsequently suffered further persecution, and survivors were exiled to Hell Valley; Shisui later considers revenge a possible motive for a Ketsuryūgan-related attack 319.

Relations with Konoha deteriorate after the Nine-Tails’ Attack. The attacker’s Sharingan leads the leadership to suspect the entire clan, and Genya states that the Uchiha were pushed to the village outskirts. The Hyuga incident further convinces Uchiha members that village authorities may sacrifice clan dignity and individual lives in the name of peace 1 20 42.

When Danzō ambushes Shisui, Fugaku and Genya lead Uchiha reinforcements while operatives rescue Shisui below the cliff. The clan attacks openly, exposes the stolen Sharingan in Danzō’s arm and eye socket, and allows arriving village ninja to witness the evidence. Capital Confrontation

The Uchiha delegation’s visit to the Land of Fire capital escalates beyond a performance tour. After a confrontation in the palace, Genya orders the deaths of two hostile ministers and their immediate families, placing Itachi in charge despite warnings about political consequences 103 105.

Itachi carries out the operation using genjutsu, silent killing, and chemicals that suppress the smell of blood. The victims include guards, servants, women, and children 107.

Following Genya’s destruction of the Fire Daimyo’s Palace, Konoha receives no expected international backlash. Defense of Konoha and Later Conflicts
