With this series of coordinated moves,
there was both a strategic direction-winning over the Hyuga, redirecting internal tensions-and tactical detail: integrating into everyday life and distinguishing between opponents.
There was also a precise analysis of the Hokage and the village leadership.
This was no longer a hollow ideal or a desperate confrontation,
but an utterly realistic path toward survival and growth, filled with calculation, compromise, initiative, and struggle.
The atmosphere was finally pulled back from the brink of open hostility into constructive contemplation.
Uchiha Itachi withdrew his hand from his sword hilt. His killing intent faded, replaced by deep thought.
Shisui nodded slightly. These proposals clearly aligned with some of his own ideas, but were far more concrete.
Fugaku, Sosuke, and the other elders also began weighing the proposals seriously.
Genya breathed a sigh of relief. He had finally steered the discussion away from "whether to kill" and back to "what to do."
He looked at the ashen-faced remnants of the Hardline Faction. He knew that after this encounter, they no longer had the strength to stir up a coup d'état, at least openly.
Next came the task of persuading the clan leader and most of the clan to follow this difficult road, one step at a time, toward what might be a brighter future.
It was an interlocking set of proposals, grounded in practical considerations yet ambitious enough to break the deadlock.
The first to break the silence was, unexpectedly, Shisui Uchiha.
The gentle smile he usually wore had been replaced by an unprecedented brightness.
He stepped forward and looked intently at Genya, unable to hide the excitement and agreement in his voice.
"Winning over the Hyuga... using external tensions... actively integrating... dividing the leadership..."
Shisui mulled over the deeper implications.
"Genya, your vision is even more far-reaching and practical than I imagined!"
He turned to Clan Leader Fugaku and the elders, his voice clear and forceful.
"Especially those two points about using external tensions and dividing the leadership! I've spent a long time operating... on the fringes of Root. I know all too well how obsessed Danzo is with the Uchiha, and how vicious his methods are."
"Identifying him as our primary, clearly defined enemy, rather than resenting the village as a whole, will give us a clearer target and allow us to tailor our strategy!"
Shisui's eyes shone with the light of an idealist who had found a viable way forward.
"And actively integrating and winning over the Hyuga are precisely what I've been trying to do all along, only to find myself isolated and facing resistance at every turn!"
"Genya has identified the key. We can't rely on one-sided goodwill and communication alone. We must demonstrate the Uchiha's value and indispensability, and find allies in similar circumstances so we can work together!"
"The matter between Genya and the Hyuga Clan Heiress could indeed provide an opening to break the deadlock! The Hyuga Clan is just as conservative internally, but precisely because of that, their sympathy for those in the same predicament may run deeper than we imagine."
He took a deep breath, as though he had made some kind of decision in that moment.
"If the clan decides to try this path, I'm willing to use my... current position and channels to investigate the movements of Danzo's Root as thoroughly as possible, while attempting covert contact with anyone in the Hyuga Clan who might be open-minded."
"At the very least, we can learn who might be a friend, and who harbors the deepest hostility."
Shisui's declaration not only endorsed Genya's proposals, but also offered a concrete, extremely risky plan of personal action.
Immediately afterward, Uchiha Itachi spoke as well.
Thoughts churned behind his deep eyes more intensely than ever.
Genya's proposals were like a bolt of lightning, cleaving through the fog that had long trapped his thinking between the opposing poles of "clan" and "village," and even the extreme choices of "destruction" and "betrayal."
"Eliminate internal noise, identify the primary enemy, shift the focus of conflict, demonstrate our value..."
"Genya, your analysis breaks a complex problem down into actionable steps. That's far more useful than empty talk about ideals or wallowing in anger."
His gaze swept over the remnants of the Hardline Faction, who were silent with fear, before settling on his father, Fugaku.
"Father, elders. What Genya pointed out about Lord Third Hokage's weakness and desire for stability is an objective fact."
"That means that as long as we Uchiha don't take the initiative to cross his bottom line-by staging a coup, for example-he will be more likely to preserve the status quo, or even stall, when choosing between Danzo and us. That delay would give us a precious window of time."
"Seek common interests, but never become completely dependent on them. Our own strength must be our foundation."
He looked at Genya, his gaze complicated.
"The path you've proposed is strewn with thorns. It requires the entire clan to set aside its prejudices and make an enormous effort, and its chances of success are unknown."
"But compared with... those two dead ends I saw before, it at least gives us room to struggle and maneuver. It offers... a faint glimmer of hope that Sasuke and his generation might see... a different future."
Itachi's additions, and the way he connected Genya's proposals to "Sasuke's future," left no doubt that he had been persuaded and had found "hope" along this difficult road.
For Itachi, hope itself was precious enough to change the principles guiding his actions.
Shisui and Itachi's successive statements were like two heavy weights placed on Genya's side of the scales.
The clear stance of these two prodigies, both highly respected among the clan's younger generation and holding unusual positions, changed the atmosphere in the Secret Chamber.
The previously hesitant Neutral Faction began whispering among themselves, discussing the proposals' details and feasibility.
The elders of the Moderate Faction nodded repeatedly. Although Genya's plan was radical, they felt it was indeed more constructive than the Hardline Faction's suicidal approach or simply enduring everything.
Even Clan Leader Uchiha Fugaku's brow relaxed a little, his fingers tapping unconsciously against the tabletop.
Meanwhile, the Hardline Faction's last shred of resistance collapsed completely as Shisui and Itachi "switched sides."
To their horror, they realized that Genya had not only crushed them in strength; they had also suffered a total defeat in reasoning and plans for the future.
Even the clan's two most outstanding young prodigies stood against them.
The elder whom Genya had terrified out of his wits was now ashen-faced and slumped helplessly in his chair, not even daring to lift his head.
Watching Shisui and Itachi speak up so enthusiastically, Genya breathed an inward sigh of relief.
He knew the two of them had switched sides!
That wasn't easy. I spent the whole night brainwashing them!
Shisui had seen a concrete path toward building bridges and realizing his ideals.
Itachi had seen the possibility of securing a different future for his younger brother and his clan, even in this desperate situation.
"Then,"
Genya spoke again, drawing everyone's attention back to him.
"Since both Shisui and Itachi believe this path has merit, do you all agree that we should set aside meaningless infighting and unrealistic fantasies for now, concentrate the clan's strength, and try to... follow this road? It may be difficult, but at least it still offers a chance of survival and hope."
His gaze swept over Fugaku, the elders, and every member of the clan.
"We need detailed plans, a division of responsibilities, restraint, and above all, time."
"But I believe that as long as we're heading in the right direction, every solid step we take will bring us farther from the precipice and closer to a real future."
