An appointment? No!

Ye Fan got off the plane and took a taxi to the Morning and Evening Group.

The moment Ye Fan entered the Morning and Evening Group, he drew quite a few stares.

The receptionist looked at Ye Fan, utterly speechless, and asked, "Who are you here to see?"

"I'm here to see Bai Yunxi!"

"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked coolly.

Ye Fan lifted his chin and said unhappily, "With how close Bai Yunxi and I are, do I really need an appointment?"

"I'm very sorry, but I can't let you upstairs without an appointment. Plenty of people want to see Young Master Bai every day. If Mr. Bai saw everyone, he'd be run off his feet," the receptionist said with a bright smile.

Ye Fan shot the receptionist an angry look and said through gritted teeth, "Then I'll wait for him."

Ye Fan sat down on a sofa off to one side of the lobby. Before long, a beautiful woman with long legs walked in, told the receptionist she was there to see Mr. Bai, and was let through.

Ye Fan immediately flew into a rage. He rushed up to the reception desk and demanded, "Why can she go upstairs when I can't?"

"Miss Yun Shanshan is our group's exclusive model, and she's also Mr. Bai's girlfriend," the receptionist said.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Bai Yunxi doesn't have a girlfriend at all!" Ye Fan snapped, beside himself with anger.

"Sir, if you keep making a scene, I'll have to call security," the receptionist said, her expression darkening.

Ye Fan glared at the receptionist and said petulantly, "When I see Bai Yunxi, I'll have him fire you. Just wait until you're out of a job."

The receptionist: "..."

Ye Fan stormed out, leaving the two receptionists staring at each other.

"That guy is a real freak!" the short-haired receptionist said.

"Exactly! He's dressed in no-name clothes, his hair looks like a bird's nest, and he actually has the nerve to come see Young Master Bai. Everyone knows Young Master Bai cares more than anyone about cleanliness and neatness. Seeing someone like that would probably make him sick!" The long-haired receptionist shook her head in disbelief.

"A guy like that actually dared to threaten you, Sister Zhang, saying he'd have Mr. Bai fire you! What a freak," the short-haired receptionist said.

"There are more and more lunatics these days," the long-haired receptionist said, shaking her head.

"What can you do? The economy's bad! Haven't you noticed more and more bosses jumping off buildings?"

In Bai Yunxi's conference room.

"Is this how you put together a proposal? You think you can fob me off with this?"

"What good is a polished proposal if none of it is feasible?"

"Haven't I already made myself perfectly clear? Why are you still handing in the same old thing?"

"Are you being paid to sit around doing nothing? If you can't do your jobs, pack your things and get out!"

Inside the conference room, Bai Yunxi gave the assembled managers a brutal dressing-down.

Bai Yunxi was a perfectionist who demanded excellence in everything he did. Whenever he threw himself into his work, he became extremely short-tempered.

Bai Yunxi glared angrily at everyone, only to notice that one of the managers had suddenly gone pale.

"Manager Zhang, what are you looking at?"

"Mr. Bai, o-outside!"

"Outside? Outside!"

Bai Yunxi turned around and saw someone hanging upside down outside the window, blinking at him and flashing a mouthful of gleaming white teeth.

The sight of something so "supernatural" in broad daylight gave Bai Yunxi quite a fright.

Ye Fan tapped on the window, looking rather disgruntled.

Bai Yunxi sucked in a sharp breath. This was the seventh floor! There was nothing to support him, yet Ye Fan was hanging upside down outside!

Bai Yunxi took a deep breath and told everyone in the conference room, "Meeting adjourned!"

Bai Yunxi opened the window and let Ye Fan in.

"Why didn't you use the front door? If someone had taken a picture, you'd have made the headlines," Bai Yunxi said irritably.

"I didn't want to do this either!" Ye Fan said unhappily. "That nasty girl downstairs said I couldn't come in without an appointment, so I had to get in this way. A long-legged girl came before me, too. Did you see her?"

Bai Yunxi shook his head. "No."

"Good. That girl guarding the entrance downstairs actually said that woman was your girlfriend!" Ye Fan said, thoroughly displeased.

"You mean Yun Shanshan." The Yun family had been trying to push someone on Bai Yunxi for a long time, but he simply wasn't interested.

Ye Fan shrugged. "I don't know! She's just some girl. She's definitely not your girlfriend!"

"Why are you so sure she's not my girlfriend?" Bai Yunxi asked.

"You're going to be my wife someday, so of course you can't have a girlfriend!" Ye Fan said as though it were obvious.

Bai Yunxi looked at Ye Fan. "If you say that in front of other people again, I'll tear your mouth apart."

Ye Fan said, "So I can't say it in public, but I can say it in private?"

Bai Yunxi: "..."

Bai Yunxi didn't answer, and Ye Fan didn't press him. "I'm hungry. Let's go eat."

"I'm not off work yet!" Bai Yunxi said irritably.

"Then slack off! What's the big deal?" Ye Fan said dismissively. "You're the boss, anyway. Bosses make their employees work themselves to death while they take it easy. Come on, let's go."
