Akai's Nightmare

Today had been another complicated yet fulfilling day for Akai Shuichi.

In the morning, he had first been "kidnapped" by Irish, then encountered the mysterious Mr. Noah.

After returning to the FBI and briefly discussing countermeasures with James, he had hurried back to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department as Okiya Subaru, explaining in detail how the criminals had casually released him after the "kidnapping."

Only after finishing his statement did Akai Shuichi learn that the neighboring National Police Agency had been infiltrated and attacked by a mysterious woman that morning.

Although he had concluded that the attack might be connected to the Organization, the culprit had long since vanished without a trace. Even if he wanted to investigate, he had nowhere to begin.

So, as usual, he went to work as Okiya Subaru, got off work, and returned home to rest.

Until that evening.

"Why isn't Mr. Lin back yet?"

Akai Shuichi noticed that Lin Xinyi's neighboring home was unusually quiet.

Lin Xinyi had disappeared that morning and had not shown up again since.

At first, he thought it was merely one of Lin Xinyi's usual habits—Officer Lin often took leave to accompany his female student on trips and shopping sprees, all while insisting that this was his way of working.

So Akai Shuichi had not paid much attention at first. He had assumed Mouri Ran had suddenly arranged another activity and called Lin Xinyi and Miss Chris over.

But it was now close to midnight.

There was still no movement from Lin Xinyi's house.

Neither he nor Miss Chris had returned.

"Where are they now?"

Akai Shuichi had not forgotten that he was still tasked with monitoring and protecting Lin Xinyi.

So he tried calling Lin Xinyi.

No one answered.

Then he tried calling Miss Chris.

No one answered.
