Background / History

Lin Xinyi was a forensic officer in his original world and a martial-arts prodigy from a family of martial artists. He began body tempering at five, mastered his family’s martial arts by seven, and continued studying combat methods until his early teens. After being disciplined for injuring several delinquents in a fight, he abandoned the idea of being a vigilante and chose forensic work as a safer way to help people while continuing his training. 31

He transmigrated into the body of another Lin Xinyi in 1996, retaining skill-based knowledge such as fluent Japanese but none of the original owner’s experiential memories. He awakened in a river, later realizing that the body’s original owner had apparently attempted suicide.
