When Ji Huaijin looked up again, it was already broad daylight outside.

The phone beside his computer had stayed silent all night.

He rubbed between his brows, picked it up, and unlocked it. The message he had sent yesterday still sat alone in the chat window.

Eight full hours, and there was no sign of a reply.

Ji Huaijin's brows knitted tightly, his lips pressed into a thin line. After a moment's thought, he stood, grabbed his car keys, threw on his coat, and strode out of the room.

The morning roads bustled with people rushing to make it by eight. His call rang until it disconnected automatically, unanswered.

At another red light, Ji Huaijin, his expression grim, began dialing a different number.

Before the call could go through, however, Lin Shuyang's call came in.

He had intended to reject it, but after a moment's thought, he answered.

"We're screwed! Cheng Yue and Su Xingchen ran into each other!"

Lin Shuyang was immensely grateful for the call he had made to property management last night, even though he had abandoned it halfway.

He had been sleeping soundly that morning when, still groggy, he received a call from a senior manager at Blue Sky No. 1. The man's incessant apologies for missing his call last night had made such a racket that they woke him right up.

After using the bathroom, curiosity suddenly struck him. He figured he might as well see how Su Xingchen, that elegant young master, had sneaked into someone else's home.

He would never have known if he hadn't looked-and what he saw gave him a fright.

Perhaps to help him understand what had happened quickly, the property management company had picked out the key moments and sent them as two clips.

The first wasn't particularly important.
