Ning Rongrong grew up as the daughter of Ning Fengzhi, leader of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo doted on her so heavily that her father believed hardship was necessary for her talent to develop properly. He supported her enrollment at Shrek Academy and authorized Flender to discipline her 43 47.

Lin Like was her close childhood playmate. Rongrong believed that Lin Like was the successor of a secluded sect persecuted by Spirit Hall and tried to protect that identity. She did not know her friend’s true Sun Moon origins or the political agreement behind her father’s cooperation with Sun Moon; their friendship was explicitly described as free of those interests 43 47 51.
