Background / History

Bei Bei was already a soul master when Mu En introduced Chen Tianyuan as his younger brother and instructed him not to bully the newcomer. Bei Bei immediately promised to protect him. Both children lived with Zhang Lexuan in the Inner Court, where she cared for them and taught them about soul beasts 4 5 6.

Over the following eight years, Bei Bei and Chen Tianyuan became as close as brothers, sharing the experience of incomplete families. They moved into the Outer Court dormitories more than two years before meeting Huo Yuhao and were third-year students at that time. Tang Ya’s arrival shifted their formerly inseparable routine, with Bei Bei increasingly spending time with her 8.

Personality

Bei Bei combines a caring disposition with playful competitiveness. He promises to look after Chen Tianyuan, but also teases him about cultivation, throws a pillow at him, and pulls away his blanket to wake him. As a child, he refused to be outdone when Chen Tianyuan stunned more fish with lightning; during their first Soul Fight, he retaliated with a sneak attack after being knocked down 4 5 7 8.

He is attentive toward Tang Ya and supportive of Huo Yuhao, providing medicine, instruction, and tuition. His concern does not prevent defensiveness: when Chen Tianyuan suggests Tang Ya might become an Evil Soul Master, Bei Bei demands evidence before agreeing to consult Mu En 8 9 10 11 32.

Bei Bei objects openly when Xuan Zi changes the Seven Devils selection rules. However, his own assessment favors friends and strategically valuable teammates; he considers He Caitou the likely person to remove partly because they have no personal connection.
