In Yu Lin Bloodhawk's eyes, the alternative proposed by Old Charlatan's Mage Corps was of little use, because it was merely a modified Arcane Guardian. An Arcane Guardian was an engineered construct made from a golem and an Arcane Core. Judged solely by how well it carried out combat orders, Silvermoon City's Arcane Guardians performed far better than simple-minded Infernals.
Although an Arcane Guardian had no self-aware soul, it could precisely and strictly execute the programs built into its Arcane Core. It had no emotions or fear, only the cold execution of orders. As a combat unit, it was nearly perfect. The only pity was that an Arcane Core was far too complicated to manufacture. Quel'Danil simply lacked the means to make one.
Moreover, Yu Lin Bloodhawk felt that Old Charlatan's alternative was rather redundant. With an Arcane Core already serving as the CPU, he did not believe adding an enslaved, ill-tempered, dim-witted elemental soul would improve its combat effectiveness by much.
Still, there was one point Yu Lin Bloodhawk was considering. If a Fel Infernal created by the Burning Legion had only its outer fel stones shattered, while the infernal soul at its core remained intact, that soul would return to the Twisting Nether. Once it returned, the Fel Infernal could be reborn with a sufficient infusion of fel energy, without needing to be constructed anew.
In other words, as long as there was enough energy, an infernal soul created by the Burning Legion could rebuild its body indefinitely. This almost limitless regenerative ability could make up for nearly all a Fel Infernal's shortcomings. An Arcane Guardian's Arcane Core, however, had no such ability to reconstruct a body. Even if the Arcane Core of a destroyed Arcane Guardian survived intact, another guardian golem still had to be forged from
