"My lord, those Raptors cluster around this area to build their nests, and there are plenty of Raptor eggs there. Most of the adults go out hunting and foraging during the day, then return after dark. They usually live in groups of two or three nests, with about seven or eight fully grown Raptors and a small pack of youngsters of various sizes. We plan to have the Gryphon Riders scout during the day to pinpoint the nests, then send ground troops to surround and capture them at night," the Gryphon Rider said.
Yu Lin Bloodhawk looked at Sana.
Sana nodded, indicating that he had already approved the plan.
"That works. Beasts have very keen noses, so the ground troops need to be careful when surrounding them. Approach from downwind whenever possible. Also, collect some Raptor dung near the nests you intend to surround and smear it on yourselves. That will reduce the chances of the Raptors detecting you. This is no time to worry about getting dirty."
Yu Lin Bloodhawk thought for a moment, then said, "Just capture the big, fully grown Raptors. Let the little ones go! As for the eggs... leave those alone too. Don't touch them."
Sana hesitated, wanting to say something.
Yu Lin Bloodhawk noticed and patted Sana on the shoulder. "Listen to me. Those young Raptors and Raptor eggs really won't be of any use. Leave them! We're heading into battle now. If we were back home or in The Hinterlands, I certainly wouldn't stop you from raising them."
Sana reluctantly nodded in agreement, though he still felt it was a terrible waste.
"There's nothing to regret. Raptors may be among the strongest large predators, but their battlefield is the jungle, among other beasts. They aren't suited to our battlefields."
Yu Lin Bloodhawk said,
