Su Ye couldn't help smiling at the four items that had dropped.
"They're all good stuff."
The three pieces of Giant Bear meat could increase his physique by 1.5. Added to his current 7.9, that would give him 9.4 physique, with his base physique reaching 8.4.
With the Strength Bracer added in, his physique would reach 9.9, just shy of 10.
Without hesitation, Su Ye put the Strength Bracer on his wrist.
The bracer was neither metal nor wood, its surface covered in rugged patterns. The moment he put it on, Su Ye felt a warm current flow from his wrist throughout his body.
Next came the Survival Coins.
Su Ye hadn't expected those to drop either. After all, it was already the third day, and this was his first time seeing Survival Coins.
Su Ye picked up a Survival Coin and examined it.
It was only the size of a silver coin, purple-gold all over, cool and heavy to the touch, with a distinctly substantial feel.
One side bore the word "Survival" in an arcane script, while the other depicted a road shrouded in gray mist.
"I can't use them right now, but these Survival Coins will definitely be useful later."
Su Ye put the Survival Coins away. The main reason everyone still bartered was that Survival Coins were too scarce.
Once the beginner period ended and Survival Coins became easier to obtain, prices would gradually stabilize, and people could use Survival Coins for trading.
Finally, he looked at the Fuel Storage Tank.
The Fuel Storage Tank wasn't large, only about palm-sized, much like a car ornament. It was dark silver all over, with fine measurement markings covering its surface.
Despite its small size, it could hold a thousand units of fuel. Clearly, it contained a separate space of its own.
"It can only hold a thousand units of fuel. That's a little small, and it can only store fuel. I wonder if this Fuel Storage Tank can be upgraded,"
Su Ye said.
"It can."
A voice sounded beside him.
Su Ye looked up and saw three Great Xia Soldiers emerge from the shadows of the convenience store. They stopped a little over ten meters away from him.
"Spark,"
called the burly man leading them.
"Prairie fire,"
Su Ye replied.
"Hello, comrade. My name is Wu Jun. These two are my comrades-in-arms."
"Hello, everyone. I'm Su Ye."
Su Ye extended his hand as well, and they exchanged firm handshakes.
"Comrade Su Ye, this Fuel Storage Tank works just like a Storage Ring. When you get spare Fuel Storage Tanks, you can merge them to upgrade them and increase the amount of fuel they can hold."
Wu Jun glanced at the Fuel Storage Tank in Su Ye's hand and explained, "It becomes especially useful later on, when you have too much fuel."
"So this Fuel Storage Tank's capacity can be expanded too. That really does make it a good find."
Su Ye asked, "Where can I get more Fuel Storage Tanks?"
"There are quite a few ways. Some service-area shops sell them, and they're guaranteed drops from Gas Station bosses. That Giant Bear just now was this Gas Station's boss."
Wu Jun patiently explained, "You also have a chance of getting one in an instance or from opening a Supply Crate."
Su Ye nodded, then asked, "What did you three comrades bring today? And how many groups of our people will I meet today?"
"Besides us, you'll meet four more groups of our people today."
Wu Jun said, "The three of us have a Storage Ring, a piece of equipment called the Eye of Detection, and a function module."
"The Eye of Detection lets you inspect some information about a target. However, this Eye of Detection is only first tier, so it can inspect targets up to tier two. Once a target reaches tier three, it won't work."
"If there's anything else you need, just let us know. We'll report it when we get back."
Su Ye's eyes lit up.
The system automatically provided descriptions for some items, but it didn't do the same for monsters.
With that Giant Bear, for example, he could only guess that it was first tier. He had known nothing about its exact stats, weaknesses, or skills.
If he hadn't relied on the Desert Eagle to kill it instantly in its sleep, fighting it head-on would have been extremely risky with so many unknowns.
The Eye of Detection would make things much easier. Only by knowing both himself and his enemy could he win every battle.
"There's nothing I particularly need right now. Just let the higher-ups decide what to send,"
Su Ye said after a moment's thought.
His basic supplies and equipment were already far ahead of everyone else's. Besides, the Survival Game had only begun three days ago, so he didn't even know what good items were available.
For instance, he'd never heard of the Eye of Detection before this.
Great Xia had been through Road Survival twice. Although both attempts had failed, its knowledge was certainly beyond anything he could match. He was better off letting the higher-ups send resources based on his situation.
"All right. In that case, let's begin."
Wu Jun nodded. "Oh, besides the fuel, there are some things in the convenience store at this Gas Station. There were Civilization Monsters from other civilizations here earlier, so we couldn't sort and pack them for you. You'll have to do that yourself."
With that, the three began attacking one another.
When their health bars dropped to 1%, they stopped and looked at Su Ye together, giving him encouraging smiles.
Su Ye didn't hesitate. He took out the Scale-Breaking Blade.
The blade flashed.
The three fell, dropping three items: a Storage Ring, a function module, and the monocle-shaped Eye of Detection.
Su Ye stepped forward and picked up the Storage Ring.
"Merge."
The Storage Ring in his hand flashed, and its internal space instantly expanded to eighty cubic meters.
Eighty cubic meters was equivalent to the capacity of a large shipping container, enough to hold a small warehouse's worth of supplies.
Next, Su Ye looked at the function module.
[Function module · Sealing]: When activated, completely seals the vehicle, keeping out toxic gas or viruses. Use with caution to avoid suffocation from a lack of oxygen.
"Not bad. Oxygen deprivation might be a risk, but if I run into a toxic environment, this function could save my life."
Su Ye nodded in satisfaction. After putting the function module away, he turned to the final item, the Eye of Detection.
The Eye of Detection was a monocle with a faint ice-blue lens. Intricate metal gears lined its rim, giving it an aesthetic that blended steampunk with science fiction.
Su Ye checked the Eye of Detection's effects.
[Eye of Detection]: First tier. When worn and aimed at a target, allows the wearer to inspect some information about it. Inspection consumes the wearer's mental power. Cannot inspect targets of tier three or higher.
Su Ye immediately put on the Eye of Detection. The lens automatically fitted itself over his right eye socket without any discomfort.
Then he looked at the only reasonably intact Fuel Pump nearby.
A stream of deep-blue data immediately flashed across the lens, followed by lines of information projected directly onto his retina.
[Fuel Pump]: A surviving machine from an abandoned Gas Station. It still contains 1,000 units of extractable fuel. Its casing is made of high-strength alloy and has some salvage value.
