Background / History

Su Ye originally lived on Earth. While returning home from work, he stopped to film a man standing on a tenth-floor air-conditioning unit. The man fell onto him, after which Su Ye awoke on Blue Star in the body of an eighteen-year-old with the same name. He inherited the youth’s memories and accepted his transmigration readily, partly because he considered becoming twelve years younger a bargain 1.

Blue Star appeared deserted and frozen in time. Before Su Ye could investigate or pursue his plan to make money using Earth knowledge, the global Road Survival Game drew him in. He later learned that Blue Star’s population had entered the game a century earlier; his late arrival had separated him from the rest of Humanity, who had become monsters within the game 1 3.

His human identity initially baffled Zhou Chang and the four men assigned to his starting lane. After verifying his Blue Star knowledge, they recognized him as a compatriot and supplied him with equipment through their monster drops 2 4 6.

Appearance

  • Original body: An eighteen-year-old human youth; his hands are described as slender before transformation 1 18.
  • Feather Tribe disguise: Roughly half again his original size, with a tall, lean build, starkly pale skin, gray-white hair, and pure white eyes 18.
  • Disguised facial features: A more pronounced brow ridge and jawbone, producing a cold, commanding appearance 18 19.
  • Stat-boosting clothing: Wears the green, turtle-patterned Turtle Vest beneath his shirt and a garish, multicolored Flashy Headband around his forehead 23.

Personality

Su Ye is adaptable, irreverent, and quick to look for advantages. He accepts transmigration with little hesitation, jokes about his predicament, and even treats the possibility of becoming a monster as something that might be interesting rather than simply terrifying 1 5.

His business dealings combine a reputation for reliability with aggressive profit-seeking. He refuses extra payment to let buyers jump the order queue, maintains equal prices across the five tribes, and compensates Mo Yu for valuable assistance. At the same time, he exploits scarcity and panic to sell bandages at substantial profits, preferring shared financial interests over untested loyalty 12 25 27 35 36.

He is cautious about personal safety and concealing his identity. He keeps a weapon ready even when approaching apparent Great Xia soldiers, checks passwords before revealing his human appearance, and avoids acknowledging allies in front of monsters from other civilizations 15 21 30.

Despite knowing that Great Xia’s soldiers revive in the Gray Mist World, killing them for their drops initially weighs heavily on him. He salutes them and tries to make their deaths swift; repeated deliveries eventually make him more accustomed to the procedure 17 23 28.

Abilities & Skills

Physical Strength and Perception

Su Ye develops his body and mind through mutant meat, equipment, and Training Room exercises 20 23 48.

  • Can kill a simulated Mutant Gray Wolf with one punch in 1.2 seconds before reaching First Tier 47.
  • Enhanced perception and reactions allow him to detect and avoid hazards while driving through the night 38.
  • First Tier advancement sharpens his mental perception and makes his mental power more distinct 49.
  • His reflexes remain a limit on driving speed: at 3,000 km/h, he judges that going faster would leave too little time to respond to unexpected obstacles 49.

Manufacturing and Trade

Su Ye uses the Workbench to turn blueprints and materials into mass-produced goods 9 24.

  • Produces Simple Double-Shot Hand Crossbows, crossbow bolts, and Simple Bandages 9 24.
  • Keeps production running while driving or resting 9 14.
  • Requires buyers to supply scarce Simple Trigger Components for large crossbow orders 11.
  • Accepts fuel, materials, or mutant meat according to his current needs 25 27.
  • Sells game knowledge, including vehicle rank-up and building information, to Ling Yue 40 44.

Disguise and Information Gathering

The Illusionary Form Mask lets Su Ye conceal his human identity by physically changing his face and build 16 17.

  • Alters muscles and bones as well as surface appearance; size changes cannot exceed twice his original size 16 17.
  • Has a five-minute cooldown and can save five appearance presets 17 19.
  • Su Ye purchases full-body photographs of all five tribes with fuel before constructing his disguise 18.
  • Chooses Feather Tribe noble traits after learning that gray-white hair and pure white eyes signify noble blood 18.
  • Provides no direct combat-power increase 16.

Rule-Based Combat

Much of Su Ye’s early combat relies on the Gray Fog Medal and careful opening attacks rather than trained fighting technique 9 30 42.

  • Approaches monsters at close range while they are unable to initiate attacks, then targets vulnerable areas such as mouths and eyes 9 21.
  • Switches preloaded hand crossbows through his Storage Ring to maintain successive volleys 30.
  • Confirms at the gas station that attacking one monster does not automatically provoke the others during beginner protection 30.
  • Great Xia identifies his lack of systematic combat experience as a major weakness 42.
  • Uses the Training Room’s Combat Simulation to begin addressing that weakness; simulations require target materials and Survival Coins 47.

Skill Learning

  • Unlocks his Skill Bar upon reaching First Tier 49.
  • Delays choosing skills until his talent awakens 49.
  • Great Xia’s logistics department plans to recommend skills suited to that talent after the beginner period 50.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Initial Trial and Human Discovery

Su Ye’s presence gives Great Xia an unexpected human participant in the Fivefold Race’s survival game. With Zhou Chang’s assistance, he becomes the first player to clear the initial trial, earning a server-wide announcement and an upgradeable Storage Ring. That announcement also establishes his “Fuel Gauge” handle as the name of a strong player, helping him secure later trades 4 5 6 8.

Spark Operation

Chu Ge names Su Ye the “spark” of Humanity and replaces the humans assigned to his highway with Great Xia soldiers. The operation initially aims to secure first place in the beginner mileage rankings, obtain a Talent Awakening Potion, and help him acquire a dungeon item afterward. Its broader purpose is to discover what lies at the road’s end before Humanity’s third survival attempt 2 14 15.

Support personnel transfer equipment through monster drops, deliberately reducing themselves to near-death before Su Ye finishes them. Great Xia concentrates its deliveries on storage capacity, vehicle modules, and attribute equipment—the resources needed to turn his commercial gains into survival and mileage advantages 17 22 23.

Weapons and Medical-Supply Business

Mo Yu’s blueprints let Su Ye build a manufacturing business serving all five tribes. He secures large crossbow orders, later receives orders for 50,000 bandages, and uses Mo Yu as a reseller during rising demand. Selling 10,000 bandages brings roughly 160,000 fuel units in revenue and raises Su Ye’s reserves to 250,000 after commission 9 11 27 35 36.

After learning of the coming purge, Su Ye keeps that information from other-race players and prioritizes strengthening himself. He also recognizes that doomed players may provide opportunities to acquire additional resources 40 43.

First Tier and Combat Training

The Training Room gives Su Ye a renewable method of improving his base attributes after mutant-meat gains become harder to obtain. Physical exercise supplies the final 0.1 Physique needed for First Tier, unlocking his Skill Bar. He then requests a Great Xia soldier’s material sample for a more useful combat simulation, prompting the dispatch of instructor Zhou Daqiang 47 48 49 50.
