Since he wanted to stay, I wouldn't force him to leave.
"What are you going to do?"
Suguru Geto looked down at the girl, who was almost half a head shorter than him and looked frail enough to topple in a breeze. He seriously doubted what she had said.
But seeing how confident she looked...
He couldn't help growing curious.
"Nue, charge over here," I said.
What was I going to do?
-Well, obviously, I'd use the simplest, most brute-force method: smash this domain apart.
I had once read in the Zenin Clan's library that a "domain" was a space made entirely of cursed energy that was extremely difficult to break from within. Inside a domain, its creator was the most powerful being.
If breaking it from inside wouldn't work, then outside was the only option.
After all, I didn't have the ability to break a domain from within yet.
-BOOM!!!!!
The shikigami, whose cursed energy had reached grade-one strength, swooped down fiercely. This time, nothing unexpected happened. Nue crashed straight into the ominous domain, whipping up a powerful gust.
Suguru Geto was shaken to his core. This little girl in front of him was actually this strong!
The girl's expression didn't even change. She simply waited quietly for something.
A moment later, a crack spread out from the point of impact.
Then the crack gradually widened, branching like slender boughs from a thick tree trunk until it covered the entire domain. A soft crack followed.
The domain that had trapped them for an entire day shattered in an instant, like glass struck by a sharp object.
Then an enormous crash erupted on the top floor. Rubble and dust rained down, and half of the solid concrete wall on the top floor broke apart, revealing the gray-blue sky.
The cursed spirit appeared.
With its domain shattered, the cursed spirit was badly weakened, its cursed energy dropping sharply.
The Divine Dogs, which had been poised outside the domain, swarmed forward and tore into it. In moments, they defeated the cursed spirit and devoured it completely.
Suguru Geto was dumbfounded.
Then a secret thrill of delight rose in his heart.
He had a peculiar feeling.
This girl... was just like him.
She could see those "monsters" too.
"Toji, I'm done. Where are those two children?"
"I left them downstairs. Just let the Assistant Supervisor sent by Jujutsu Headquarters take care of them."
I smiled. "Good, then let's go. I made a point of bringing my card today, and I happen to feel like having some sweets now. What about you, Toji?"
Toji Zenin said, "I'll pass."
Naobito Zenin had promised him a million every time he went on a mission with Kamu Zenin, as long as he protected her in a crisis.
The money should have reached his account by now. He needed to save up properly to prepare for leaving the Zenin Clan in the future.
"Um, please wait-" Suguru Geto hurriedly stopped the two of us before we could leave.
I turned to look at him.
"Are you people who specialize in dealing with these monsters?" He looked a little nervous. "Could you tell me what these monsters are? Why can't some people see them? And this strange power I have..."
-Ah, he was definitely a little jujutsu sorcerer who had grown up in the ordinary world.
Since Toji was leaving anyway, and eating desserts alone would be a little boring, I said, "Then shall we find somewhere to have a proper chat? Um... what's your name?"
He paused, looking a little embarrassed. "Suguru Geto. My name is Suguru Geto, and I'm a second-grader at this elementary school. I'm really sorry... I was in such a hurry that I forgot to introduce myself."
So I introduced myself too. "Hello, Geto. I'm Kamu Zenin."
And so we sat down in the dessert shop I had visited last time.
Because the Zenin Clan was wealthy and had invested a considerable amount in almost every dessert shop in the cities I frequented, it was easy to find delicious, non-sweet treats bearing the Zenin Clan's custom mark.
-Made especially for me.
Boredom was actually only a small part of why I had invited Suguru Geto. Mostly, I wanted him to taste just how delicious my exceptional non-sweet treats were.
That way, I could prove how strange Satoru Gojo's sugar-obsessed tastes were. That was all.
