The battle beneath Yasohachi Bridge was still raging. Riko Amanai's side was obscured by a domain, its pitch-black sphere hiding everything happening inside, so we would leave that aside for now.
The battle between Yuji Itadori and Junpei Yoshino, on the other hand, was nothing short of spectacular. As tiny blue jellyfish shikigami shot out like bullets, they resembled dazzling blue meteors streaking across the dark night sky.
Once that beautiful sight hit the ground, all that remained was a little purple liquid giving off foul, putrid fumes, splattered haphazardly across the earth.
Junpei Yoshino kept up a relentless barrage, targeting Yuji Itadori as he raced back and forth ahead of him.
But he couldn't get a bead on him. Itadori was too fast to follow even when he was simply running, let alone at night with such poor visibility. The light from the shikigami interfered with Junpei's judgment to some extent, too.
For Itadori, though, all he had to do was dodge the glowing things as best he could...
The boy flew along, constantly dodging and fleeing as he made his way up the mountain.
Sometimes he was as swift as a deer, sometimes as agile as a monkey.
As he darted through the woods, leaping up and down, he kept disappearing from Junpei Yoshino's sight and reappearing, much to the irritation of the pitch-black boy.
"All you do is run... You're so damn annoying!"
But he was already putting out as much cursed energy as he could. He couldn't unleash any stronger attacks.
Fortunately, this didn't last long. Itadori made it beneath Yasohachi Bridge, braced a hand against one of its support pillars, and quietly formed a plan.
With a silent apology, he ducked behind the stone pillar.
Before long, blue light swept across the area.
