Yes, it was just as Sukuna had suspected.
Kamo Xu was planning to use his Heavenly Restriction to pull off something big...
When Sukuna took over a body, his soul displaced its original owner's soul, giving him control of the flesh.
But Kamo Xu's soul wasn't housed in his body. Because of his Heavenly Restriction, it had fused completely with his blood.
Swallowing Sukuna's Finger would grant tremendous cursed energy, while also replacing the host's consciousness.
That was his first hypothesis, and his first safeguard.
And Kamo Xu had observed something...
As a cursed womb, Dai Tian could absorb the finger's power, convert that cursed energy into his own strength, and then fully hatch into a complete special grade cursed spirit.
So why hadn't Sukuna taken over his consciousness?
There were two possibilities:
First, in the original story, Sukuna's domain had sliced Dai Tian's corpse into five pieces, and the finger had been extracted from his chest.
And just now, Kamo Xu had torn off that same part of his body, then stripped away the surrounding flesh to retrieve the finger.
Could he therefore assume that Sukuna's Finger didn't need to be absorbed, and merely had to be stored inside the body?
That was his second hypothesis, but it wasn't a safe bet...
Because Kamo Xu was human, he couldn't fully control what happened inside his body. If he wrapped the finger in blood and moved it into his stomach, that wouldn't satisfy the condition of [swallowing] it.
But if he was [human], he would inevitably come into contact with the soul inside the finger...
And so came his third hypothesis:
Second, if bodily possession wasn't triggered by [cursed spirits], whose entire bodies were formed from curses and who didn't possess fully physical flesh, but instead targeted only [humans] with
