Aokiji forged an alliance between the Uchiha and Hyuga, seized control of Konoha after the elders’ deaths, and began building support for a new political order. He then turned against the Fire Country Daimyo, capturing Shinji and announcing his public execution.

• Aokiji persuaded Hyuga Hiashi that Konoha’s leaders had plotted against powerful clans, and Hiashi agreed to support the Uchiha coup and a marriage alliance.
• Aokiji revealed himself at Akatsuki’s gathering, fought Pain and the others, and escaped with Orochimaru and White Zetsu’s corpse.
• Orochimaru transplanted White Zetsu’s Hashirama Cells into Aokiji, and Aokiji arranged plans involving Shisui’s eyes, Itachi, Asuma, and the Uchiha Clan.
• Aokiji used Kotoamatsukami on Asuma, who killed Sarutobi Hiruzen, while Aokiji and Itachi killed Danzo and the Uchiha forces overwhelmed Root.
• After Jiraiya confronted him, Aokiji became Acting Hokage with the major clans’ support and sent Jiraiya out of Konoha with Konohamaru.
• Aokiji began planning reforms with Nara Shikaku, made Itachi take the Flying Thunder God Technique scroll, and secretly revived Nohara Rin before ending her brief reincarnation.
• Aokiji returned Orochimaru to Konoha, exposed the Fire Country Daimyo’s alleged plot through a captured Guardian Ninja, and confronted Shinji at the Daimyo’s estate.
• Aokiji captured Shinji, forced the manor’s officials to submit, and ordered Shinji’s public beheading in three days with paid admission for spectators.

Aokiji consolidated his rule, revived Tsunade, and used force and political pressure to reshape relations with the other lands. After Tsunade learned of his past and left Konoha, Aokiji set his sights on the Land of Earth and challenged Ōnoki over the Five-Tails.

• Aokiji took over the Fire Country, executed its Daimyo, renamed it the Land of Flame, and announced the Thirteen Squads of the Protectorate.
• Aokiji revived Minato Namikaze and Uzumaki Kushina, reunited them with Naruto, and later forced Ryuran to use the Dragon Life Reincarnation Technique to revive Tsunade.
• Aokiji obtained Chiyo’s Chakra Enhanced Reanimation technique, restored Tsunade, and married her after she joined Konoha as captain of the Fourth Division.
• Aokiji confronted the other Kage, then killed the Land of Wind Daimyo and used the threat of war to make the surrounding Daimyos halt their plans to attack the Land of Flame.
• Aokiji found Kimimaro and brought him into his care, then exposed Obito’s use of a White Zetsu impostor in Kirigakure and persuaded Genji to support Zabuza’s plan to kill the Land of Water’s Daimyo and nobles.
• Tsunade confronted Aokiji about his killings and his role in the death of Teacher Yuan Fei, struck him, and left the village after he explained the human cost of reviving her.
• Aokiji told Fugaku he would use the accusations against him to justify attacking the Land of Earth, obtain the Five-Tails, and eventually abdicate to Tsunade.
• Aokiji pressed Ōnoki for an apology, compensation, and the Five-Tails, then challenged him to a fight, which Ōnoki accepted.

Aokiji consolidated power in Konoha, restored his health, and prepared the village and its allies for Uchiha Madara’s return. His assault on Amegakure led to a battle with Obito, whose defeat brought Madara himself into the open.

• Aokiji defeated Han, Roshi, and Ōnoki, brought the Five-Tails to Konoha, and later agreed to let Tsunade become Hokage after she returned from traveling with him.
• Tsunade learned how Aokiji had dealt with his political opponents, then agreed to lead the Land of Flame after Aokiji abdicated.
• Aokiji recovered from his cold body and married Tsunade, while Uchiha Madara revived Hashirama and Tobirama and announced that he wanted “Super Peace.”
• Aokiji trained Sasuke, gathered resources for Orochimaru, and worked with Mito to guard Konoha against Zetsu before learning Madara was preparing to reclaim the Tailed Beasts.
• Aokiji assembled allies and launched a surprise attack on Amegakure, where he fought Pain’s forces while his companions battled the other Paths and their Tailed Beasts.
• Aokiji confronted Nagato but drew Obito away, and Minato joined the fight before Obito used Kamui to trap him in its dimension.
• Itachi helped Aokiji defeat Obito, who revived Obito and Rin with Impure World Reincarnation, then sent Itachi after Pain as Madara arrived and called Obito a substitute.

Aokiji fought Uchiha Madara, negotiated a delay to the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and gained new power from Indra and the Sage of Six Paths. As the Allied Shinobi Forces prepared to counterattack, Madara’s forces launched a new assault and Jiraiya confronted Pain and Konan.

• Aokiji battled Uchiha Madara with Tsunade and the Tailed Beasts, but Madara gained the upper hand with Hashirama’s help and his Fire God Form.
• Aokiji killed Black Zetsu, rescued his allies to the Kamui Dimension, and convinced Madara to delay the Infinite Tsukuyomi in exchange for Mangekyō Sharingan eyes.
• Aokiji transplanted Itachi’s Dojutsu into Sasuke, met Indra within Sasuke’s memories, and learned how to improve his eyes.
• Aokiji and Tsunade combined Indra’s and Asura’s Chakra to summon the Sage of Six Paths, who transferred power to them and helped Aokiji awaken his golden Dojutsu.
• Aokiji united the Kage against Madara, recruited Jiraiya, and prepared the Allied Shinobi Forces for war while Sasuke reconciled with Itachi.
• Madara revived Tobirama and the First Kage, then set them against Hashirama as the Allied Shinobi Forces fought White Zetsu.
• Hashirama and Tobirama battled the First Kage while Madara’s forces struck the Allied Shinobi Forces, and Jiraiya arrived to face Pain and Konan.
