He lowered his eyes and stared at his hands, his heart still trembling.
Before boarding the Endless Train, he had prepared himself for all sorts of things. He had also understood that the Platform Game could be brutal.
But killing so many people with his own hands... whether they were NPCs or players, it was still too cruel for him.
He could almost still feel his hands turning into claws, his sharp nails piercing human chests and closing around their hearts.
Soft, warm, and fragile.
The smell of blood seemed to linger in his nostrils, making him want to retch.
For the sake of his mission, he had to keep himself alive.
Only by surviving could he gather enough information.
Only by surviving would he have a chance to leave the Endless Train and pass that information on.
But taking other people's lives to survive... was what he was doing really right?
Pressed for time, he had often struck before he could determine whether the other person was evil, simply because the opportunity seemed right.
He felt that in those moments, he had possessed no sense of justice at all. He had merely wanted to live and instinctively chosen to let someone else die.
Now, after clearing the game, the urgency of life and death had faded. An immense sense of guilt instantly surged up, enveloping his heart and shaking his convictions.

He climbed out of his sleeping bag, packed it away, and took a look at his personal panel.
