"Your Excellency Perkin Asland, our mission failed. We were ambushed by the Interstellar Human Military Junta upon entering the Amaterro System. Our fleet suffered heavy losses, and all the transport ships were captured."
Gorpious stood on the bridge of a destroyer riddled with holes. Before him was a holographic screen displaying the figure of a Stone Person covered in rare ores.
"Hiss, hiss. Fortunately, to avoid further casualties, both sides eventually reached a peace agreement. I paid a large sum of energy credits in compensation and fleet repairs. That's the only reason I'm alive to speak with you now." The Insectoid leader struggled to hold back his laughter as he spoke with a perfectly straight face.
"...Sigh."
Perkin Asland fell silent for a long while upon hearing this, then voiced his feelings.
"Hmph. I never expected such a mishap. Entrusting outsiders with this task really was a risk, though I was prepared for it." The Stone Person executive spoke.
Motherfucker, I, Gorpious, have spent years working as a mercenary in your M'tok Union, taking your jobs every day and paying my fair share of taxes, and you still treat me as an outsider?!
The Insectoid leader was furious.
These Stone People really are insufferable!
"Explain exactly what happened so I can report to the chairman," Perkin Asland continued.
Then he looked at Greger, who stood beside Gorpious. "Greger, you tell me."
Gorpious drew a deep breath, growing even angrier.
You don't trust me? Just because I'm not M'tok?
So even after serving these Stone People for all these years, I still can't earn their trust. If this is how the M'tok Union treats me, why should I remain loyal to it?
Gorpious shifted his body indignantly and moved aside to watch with cold eyes.
"Boss, want something to eat?"
