The juvenile Space Amoeba radiated excitement as she carried Xi Yan around the Stellar Base, swimming lap after lap and playing happily.
Even as a juvenile, this little Space Amoeba was comparable in size to a corvette.
That was right-this obedient Space Amoeba was none other than Bubble!
The Empire had first encountered Space Amoebas ten years earlier. After an intensive series of studies, its scientists had successfully developed Amoeba Pacification Technology, allowing them to approach and study these marvelous creatures.
A few years later, a frontier Stellar Base reported discovering a juvenile Space Amoeba in the clouds of a gas giant. The scientists speculated that this lone Space Amoeba had become lost.
Xi Yan immediately realized that this was Bubble.
He ordered them to use the technology to calm the terrified Space Amoeba. Sure enough, within a few months, she began showing signs of attachment to humans. Just under half a year later, the juvenile Space Amoeba followed a Science Ship into orbit around the Ring World and became a member of the Empire.
The little Space Amoeba was very friendly toward humans and showed no dangerous behavior. Ignoring the scientists' objections, Xi Yan eagerly stepped onto the Starhold's platform in a spacesuit to interact with her himself.
He released psionic energy filled with happiness and goodwill, and the little Space Amoeba immediately showed him extraordinary affection. She even allowed him to climb onto her enormous body, carrying him back and forth through space and frightening everyone around them.
