Background / History
Ironhead and Ye Fengxing are longtime friends who have fought together often enough to anticipate each other’s actions without explanation. In Light of Freedom, Ironhead was widely known by monk-themed nicknames including “Flowery Monk,” “Second Master Lu,” “Brother Zhishen,” and “Constable Lu” 22.
While teasing him into revealing his identity, Ye Fengxing recounts embarrassing incidents from Ironhead’s youth: being chased by a dog after peeking at someone bathing at seven, becoming a monk at thirteen and losing a fight to a nine-year-old Emei Sect junior sister, and being caught with his first girlfriend by her father at fifteen. Ironhead immediately abandons his confrontational tone and agrees to join Ye’s dungeon party 22.
Appearance
- Large build: Tall, heavyset, and rugged enough for Ye Fengxing to recognize him immediately in a crowded dungeon entrance 22.
- Bald head: Described as a burly bald man during the Ghostly Sentinel fights 22.
- Real-world physique: Already built “like a tank” outside the game, with comparisons to the Flowery Monk 40.
- Dragonkin avatar: Even more imposing than his real body; Ye Fengxing likens its proportions to a Himalayan Yeti 40.
Personality
Ironhead has a hair-trigger temper, though Ye Fengxing considers him generally reasonable until he becomes angry. His threats are not idle: Ye expects him to gather people and follow through when provoked. He also enjoys group brawls, responding enthusiastically when Ye requests reinforcements against the War Hero Family 22 43.
He is fiercely partial to the Warrior class. Whenever Ye reveals an impressive ability associated with another class, Ironhead complains to Blue Star that Warriors deserve stronger skills. Ye observes that, in Ironhead’s view, Warriors ought to be able to do everything 23 24.
His confidence can become recklessness. Once Kawaii demonstrates reliable healing, Ironhead increases his pulls from small groups to six, seven, and eventually eight Hell Mode monsters. Nevertheless, he remains responsive to Ye’s tactics, leaving controlled enemies untouched and coordinating attacks even under pressure 24 25.
Abilities & Skills
Tanking and Defensive Technique
Ironhead compensates for weak early-game equipment with professional-level execution 22.
- Manually dodges, parries, and blocks attacks, allowing him to tank individual level-15 vanguard monsters with very little health loss 22.
- Maintains threat on six Hell Mode enemies despite Ye Fengxing’s heavy area damage and his own lack of area-of-effect threat skills 25.
- Coordinates positioning and target changes with Ye, including retreating away from patrol routes and assisting with deliberately separated enemies 22 23 25.
- Limits: At level 12, he cannot counter roots, stuns, slows, or fears. Maintaining threat against large groups also leaves him less attention for active defense, making Kawaii’s healing essential 24 25.
Charge
Ironhead uses Charge both to initiate combat and to reposition between enemies 22.
- Charges back toward Ye Fengxing after Blink, then follows with Shield Bash to control the approaching target 22.
- Times an ambush so that his Charge reaches a Ghostly Sentinel almost simultaneously with Ye’s Flame Arrow 23.
- Opens the encounter with Rotten Barbara by charging directly into the Necromancer 25.
Sweeping Strike
Sweeping Strike launches an enemy away through battle aura. Its listed damage is 32–42, with a 5-meter attack range, 38 Battle Aura cost, and 15-second cooldown 23.
- Ironhead uses the flat of his sword rather than its edge to increase launch distance 23.
- Takes a small backward step so the sword tip narrowly avoids physical contact, maximizing the battle aura’s knockback 23.
- Sends a target more than 15 meters away with a level-one skill. Contact with the weapon can alter the launch direction without increasing distance 23.
Shield Bash
Shield Bash deals 41–53 damage, stuns for 3 seconds, and reduces the target’s attack speed by 30%. It has a 3-meter range, costs 40 battle energy, and has a 40-second cooldown 22.
- Extends control by striking immediately after Ye Fengxing’s Explosive Impact stun expires 23.
- Forms part of a twelve-second control sequence alongside Explosive Impact and Mighty Throw 24.
Bone-Shattering Strike
Bone-Shattering Strike attacks a vulnerable spot for 65–74 damage, reducing movement speed by 50% and attack speed by 30%. It has a 3-meter range, costs 25 battle energy, and has a 5-second cooldown 22.
- Slows pursuing enemies, buying time to reposition and finish another target 22 23.
- Ironhead identifies it, together with Piercing Thrust, as one of his available high-damage skills; Piercing Thrust’s statistics are not provided 23.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Rusty sheet-metal shield — Carried at his side when the Ghostly Cave party assembles 22.
- Crude, nicked iron sword — His weapon at the start of the run; he uses its flat to manipulate Sweeping Strike’s launch distance 22 23.
- Five Warrior equipment drops — Three yellow rare-quality pieces and two blue superior-quality pieces obtained during the Hell Mode clear; their names and individual statistics are unspecified 27.
- Hell Warrior title — Earned through the first Hell Mode clear, accompanied by permanent attribute and skill-point rewards 25 27.
Relationships
- Ye Fengxing / One Leaf Windwalk — Longtime friend and teammate. Ye trusts his tanking completely, while their practiced coordination allows them to act with minimal discussion. Ironhead later mobilizes help when Ye is besieged 22 23 25 43.
- Kawaii — Ranger healer recruited for Ghostly Cave. His precise healing enables Ironhead’s larger pulls; after the clear, Kawaii expresses admiration for both players and offers future assistance 24 25 26.
- Yun Qianshuang — Cloud Pavilion ally who accompanies the relief force. Ironhead thanks her guild and offers assistance in return 49.
- Yun Xixue — Accompanies Ironhead to the cave and invites him to run dungeons with Cloud Pavilion again. Mention of Beaconfire makes him uncomfortable, though he does not become angry with her 49.
- War Hero Family — Opposing faction during the cave siege. Ironhead gathers reinforcements against them and kills an Assassin sent to investigate the approaching force 43 49.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Ghostly Cave’s First Hell Mode Clear
Ironhead initially joins the zone-channel complaints about One Leaf Windwalk’s name, unaware that the player is Ye Fengxing. Once Ye identifies himself, Ironhead agrees to tank a three-person Ghostly Cave run with Kawaii 21 22.
He only discovers midway through the dungeon that Ye selected Hell Mode. Despite protesting, he continues and steadily increases the size of his pulls. His increasingly aggressive tanking prompts Ye to borrow fifty-two silver and ten copper from him to purchase additional skills and potions 24.
The trio completes the dungeon without wiping, securing the first Hell Mode clear. Ironhead receives the largest equipment haul of the party before separating from Ye to pursue his own class quests 25 27.
Relief Force Against the War Hero Family
When Ye requests urgent help at Adaric’s cave, Ironhead interrupts his questing and begins contacting allies. Ye, Brick to the Face, and Sky Wanderer plan to keep delaying the attackers until he arrives 43 48.
Ironhead leads Yun Qianshuang, Yun Xixue, and approximately 150 Cloud Pavilion members across the Donar River toward the cave. After he kills a scouting Assassin, War Hero Yi Yan orders further investigation of the force’s guild ranks. Inside the cave, Ye attributes the attackers’ lull to Ironhead’s approaching reinforcements 49.
