After defeating One-Eye and Jin Hezhi’s forces, he was struck by a Nine Nether curse that severed his connection to his grandfather’s Spirit Bone Pill, leaving him drawing in dangerous amounts of spiritual energy.

• Xu Taiping returned to Qingxuan, rescued Wu Liang from demons, and learned that Jin Hezhi planned to exploit the Grand Ceremony and abduct Zhao Linglong.
• Xu Taiping discovered the Faceless Tower’s preparations, protected Zhao Linglong, and secretly returned to the sect disguised as Wu Liang.
• At the Grand Ceremony, Zhao Qian became sect master, then Jin Hezhi and Wumei initiated a Sword Inquiry while poison and a cloud barrier weakened Qingxuan.

He entered the Mysterious Wasteland Tower, where he broke through to the Gate Opening Realm, became cursed by Wang You, and set his sights on a demon lord’s treasured saber.

• Xu Taiping killed Wumei and Jin Hezhi, then agreed with Fairy Lingyue to conceal his strength and let others believe the curse had destroyed his Spirit Bone.
• At the Abyssal Pavilion, Xu Taiping passed the divine general’s trial, while Fairy Lingyue defeated Zhu Sha and several other Seats who challenged her.
• Fairy Lingyue found Wuji Immortal Elder alive and arranged for a Phoenix Marrow Stone, while Xu Taiping traded the Seven-Aperture Exquisite Heart for sixty years’ use of Wuji’s Soul Armor.
• Xu Taiping learned the Faceless Tower planned to march toward True Martial Heaven, then prepared to enter the Mysterious Wasteland Tower and reach its twelfth floor.
• Inside the tower, Xu Taiping restored his strength by killing Demonic Beasts, reached the Gate Opening Realm, and killed Devil Master Wang You.
• Wang You’s ghostly attack cursed Xu Taiping’s left arm, and Gongshu Nanxing warned him that he had two hours to reach the Martial Arts Grandmaster Realm or cut off the arm.
• Xu Taiping chose to hunt Demon Cultivators to overcome the curse, and Zhai Mo and Gongshu Nanxing agreed to help him steal a treasured saber from the Heavenly Book Pavilion’s Black Bear Spirit.

Xu Taiping and his companions defeated the Demon Cultivators on the first three floors of the Mysterious Wasteland Tower, claimed powerful rewards, and prepared for the dangers ahead. After returning to Moon Perching Pavilion, Xu Taiping confronted Zhu Xuejian and Du Ziyin over their attack on Ping'an.

• Xu Taiping and Zhai Mo defeated the Black Bear Spirit, then Xu Taiping fought off the Demon Cultivators at the valley entrance and expelled Wang You’s Poison Curse with Gongshu Nanxing’s help.
• Xu Taiping and his companions lured Demon Cultivators into battle to restore their strength, then Xu Taiping killed Rhino Horn Devil Master and claimed the ripened Vermilion Bird Fruit.

• Zhu Xuejian broke into Moon Perching Pavilion and attacked Ping'an, while Du Ziyin struck him with a Sword Shadow and Xu Taiping confronted them.

Xu Taiping defeated Shen Li, secured a reprieve for White Rainbow, and learned that the Nine Abysses was hunting the Mysterious Wasteland Tower climbers. He entered the fourth floor with his allies, arranged an escape, and tried to help a shepherd boy as danger closed in.

• Xu Taiping used Dragon Gall Wine to help Meng Qingqiu seal White Rainbow’s unstable remnant soul, buying time to summon his scattered soul and spirit.
• Xu Taiping defeated Zhu Xuejian and shattered Du Ziyin’s seven-star formation before using the Tiger Roar, Dragon Roar, Gold-Shattering Art to destroy Shen Li’s Primordial Spirit and cripple his cultivation.
• Xu Taiping confirmed to Zhao Qian that he had entered the Mysterious Wasteland Tower, then learned White Rainbow had awakened and harvested an Earth Fruit lotus seed with Fairy Lingyue.
