Xu Taiping reunited with the Zhenwu Demon-Slaying Army and defended Heavenly Thunder City against Yi Weng’s fifty-thousand-strong force with reinforcements from True Martial Heaven. After the victory, he learned of the looming threat to the realms and discovered a possible way to save Xueji City by striking Yanyuntai.

• Xu Taiping returned to the battlefield with the heroic spirits of three thousand Demon-Slaying Cavalry, broke the Nine Abysses army, and persuaded the surviving veterans to serve under him.
• Xu Taiping’s Origin Beginning Clone held Heavenly Thunder City against Wulang and Shanxiao until Xu Taiping returned and destroyed the attackers with the veteran generals.
• Xu Taiping learned that Heavenly Thunder City sealed an abyssal passage and summoned cultivators from True Martial Heaven while Lin Buyan explained Buyu’s connection to an ancient Immortal Official.

Xu Taiping led the Zhenwu Demon-Slaying Army to capture Yanyuntai and relieve Xueji City, then declared Northern Emperor City his next target. After learning of Fairy Lingyue’s peril, he sought command of the gathered armies and faced challenges from generals who opposed him.

• Zhang Tianze’s Red Armor Cavalry held Xueji City against the demonic siege, and Xu Taiping planned an attack on Yanyuntai to draw its attackers away.
• Xu Taiping gathered reinforcements and used the passage beneath Heavenly Thunder City to lead the Zhenwu Demon-Slaying Army against Yanyuntai.
• Xu Taiping defeated Yin Zhen and summoned fallen Zhenwu soldiers, including Di Qing and the souls imprisoned in the Blood Pagoda, to help capture Yanyuntai.

Xu Taiping prepared the Five Emperors' Demon-Slaying Army for war, then led sixty thousand cultivators through the Demon Domain to destroy Zhoujue Demon Grotto. After killing the Primordial Lord and defeating E Piao and Xu Tianzhu, he led his army onward toward Qifei Grotto with its battle intent rising.

• Xu Taiping defeated Yang Hong in a blade contest, rallied the battle generals, and learned that Lin Buyan had found another Dragon-Slaying Stele and claimed the Crimson Heaven Spirit Garden.
• After hearing of the Jade Balance Army trapped at Qifei Grotto, Xu Taiping agreed to aid the commanders while secretly preparing sixty thousand sword and blade cultivators to attack Zhoujue Demon Grotto.
• Xu Taiping led the force through the Demon Domain, breaking the Mao-Ri Army's blockade and defeating Jingyi at Old Fox Ridge as the other Human Race armies attacked across the front.
• Xu Taiping's army broke through Yuliu Pass and advanced on Zhoujue Demon Grotto while the Northern Emperor ordered forces to stop him and summoned Mozhe.
• Xu Taiping and his army broke the defenses at Zhoujue Pass, defeated Mozhe, and Xu Taiping entered the grotto alone and killed the Primordial Lord.

The army broke through the city’s outer defenses and clashed with Chijia and Zhenyue’s forces, while Yang Hong’s Red Blade Army reopened a breach in the enemy line.

• Xu Taiping gathered the Human Race commanders behind his plan to attack Northern Emperor City before reaching Void Insight Eight Inches and facing the Eighty-One Demon Generals.
• Xu Taiping freed Jade Mother from the Earth Fruit plum tree, received her guidance on his blade and sword forging, and helped Xiaohei overcome the heart demon of the Yi People’s failed struggle against the Great Sun.
