After clearing his name, he entered the Jade Gourd contest, cut down the Plum Valley trees, and split the mountain's final sword strike, while the white-clad young man set Ye Xuan against him and an aged voice called for Su Chan.

• Xu Taiping fought Zhou Kui on the sacrificial platform, then escaped through the Jade Bone Grass as A Meng battled the Demon Venerables and the Blood Jade shattered.
• The Jade Bone Grass asked Xu Taiping to help slay the beast beneath the Blood Pool, and Fairy Lingyue explained that he could unite the remnant souls and lend them his body.
• Xu Taiping accepted the souls and gave the Self-Sacrifice Order, allowing Fairy Lingyue to control him in Jade Bone Armor as they fought the Demon God's remnant body.
• Fairy Lingyue defeated the Demon Venerables and helped seal the Demon God's true form, while Xu Taiping and A Meng escaped the collapsing cavern.
• Xu Taiping arrived at Jade Gourd Mountain carrying A Meng, but a girl in yellow accused him of killing Chen Sheng and rallied cultivators to attack him.

Xu Taiping left the Azure Profound Sect to rescue Dugu Qingxiao and learn what had happened to Xu Ziyan in the Thousand Buddhas Kingdom. After freeing Huang Que from Su Su’s captors, he fled toward the secret realm, where Su Su and her Spirit Refining Realm corpse soul caught up with him.

• Lay Buddhist Yuqing used the Immortal Gourd Grotto-Heaven’s power to wound Su Chan and seal Taotie, but Yuqing died after his lifespan ran out and Su Chan survived.
• A Meng gave Xu Taiping a Flood Dragon Token for the Wilderness Ancient Ruins, and Xu Taiping returned to Moon Perching Pavilion to learn Bai Yu had gone after the Peacock King.
• Xu Taiping and Fairy Lingyue helped Bai Yu’s attempt to kill the Peacock King, but Sect Master Zhou Tong arrived, so Xu Taiping pulled Bai Yu into his gourd and escaped.
• Ninth Uncle promised White Rainbow a Sword Inquiry against Zhou Tong at the next Seven Peaks Grand Competition, while Lin Buyu dreamed of Xu Ziyan in danger at Snow Capital.
• Huang Que warned Xu Taiping that Dugu Qingxiao was gravely wounded and Xu Ziyan’s fate was uncertain, so Xu Taiping set out to find them and save Qingxiao.
• Xu Taiping used his Shentu Bow to attack Setting Sun Mountain Manor and helped Bai Yu and Ping'an free Huang Que from Su Su, but Su Su’s corpse soul wounded them as they escaped.
• Huang Que told Xu Taiping that Qingxiao and Ziyan had been chosen by a mysterious object and that Qingxiao would be hunted for three months, then revealed Su Su had planted Merfolk Gu in him.
• Su Su threatened the people along the Black-Clothed River, and Xu Taiping fled toward the Wilderness Thousand Buddha Kingdom Secret Realm as she and her corpse soul pursued him.
• Xu Taiping reached the giant rock badly wounded and nearly exhausted, but Su Su caught up and offered to spare him if he answered her question.

Xu Taiping broke through to the Mystic Understanding Realm, escaped Shang Jiu, and fought his way to Heavenly Sound Hall to save Dugu Qingxiao. He reached the Lotus Dao Field with Chen Hao and learned that Qingxiao had sent him a blood letter containing the jade bracelets from Listening Wind Tower.

• Xu Taiping escaped Su Su in the Wilderness and learned from Fairy Lingyue that its strange beings were dangerous, then used the All Beings Are Equal precept to drive Su Su away.
• Shang Jiu captured Su Su after learning she knew where to find Dugu Qingxiao, while Xu Taiping prepared to break through at Star-Plucking Terrace.
• Fairy Lingyue defended Star-Plucking Terrace with the Shentu Bow as Ouyang Xuan and other cultivators attacked, but savage beasts scattered the attackers.
• Xu Taiping reached the Mystic Understanding Realm and saw visions of distant events before an Otherworldly Heavenly Demon and a strange hand intervened, leaving him with Double Pupils.

Xu Taiping survived Shang Jiu’s attack, reunited with Dugu Qingxiao and learned the plot against him, then spent three years cultivating in the Thousand Buddha Kingdom. He left for Qingxuan’s Seven Peaks Grand Competition, exposed Cloudview Palace’s assassins, and turned the Poison King Cult’s trap against its conspirators.

• Xu Taiping fought Shang Jiu and the cultivators in Lotus Grotto-Heaven, using All Beings Are Equal and the Demon-Slaying Blade before defeating Shang Jiu in a duel in the Wilderness Heaven.
• After Xu Taiping awoke from a month and a half of unconsciousness, Dugu Qingxiao explained the plot against him and Xu Ziyan, then planned to save her and challenge Sect Master Zhou Tong.
• Xu Taiping stayed in the Thousand Buddha Kingdom for three years, restored the Reclining Buddha statue, and received prayer beads from Ancient Buddha Kasyapa before setting out for the Seven Peaks Grand Competition.
• Xu Taiping protected the statue from Cloudview Palace, defeated its elders with All Beings Are Equal, and discovered that Yun Zhong and other assassins had been hired to kill him.
