Background / History

Tang San had a previous life as a Tang Sect disciple and continued identifying himself with that sect after entering the Douluo world. Electrolux later exploits this attachment by recreating his former sect and its elders inside an illusion 403 404.

Ten thousand years before the present story, he passed the trials on Sea God Island and inherited the Sea God position. He led the first-generation Shrek Seven Devils to a tournament championship and helped his companions improve through immortal herbs and the island’s trials 435 456.

With the Sea God Trident and Asura Demon Sword, he defeated Rakshasa God Bibi Dong and Angel God Qian Renxue. Continental histories record that he shattered Qian Renxue’s godhood 413 449.

Tang San killed the million-year Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. After becoming Sea God, he stripped the whale’s clan of its status as sea soul beasts, causing the Great Sea Martial Soul to reject them. He justified this punishment as protecting the ocean’s ecological balance; the surviving Demon Empress instead regarded it as persecution and sought revenge for her husband and people 437.

Personality

Tang San prioritizes his family’s dominance over the independence of mortals, divine peers, and the plane itself. His opening plan is explicitly to make Douluo Star the Tang Family’s private property and turn its chosen child into an obedient servant 1.

He presents himself as morally pure while concealing selfish motives. Electrolux’s illusion draws out beliefs that victory determines justice and that anyone resisting him deserves death. Later, Huo Yuhao’s defense of self-interested ambition resonates with Tang San’s own values, but he publicly condemns it as selfishness 404 555.

His suspicion and greed extend even to a man claiming to be his future son-in-law. He demands that the visiting Huo Yuhao prove his loyalty through combat, then refuses to help him because he wants both the Eternal Eye and the younger Huo Yuhao’s fire-lotus technique for himself 449 451.

His affection for Tang Wutong is intensely controlling. He seals her memories to shape her relationship with Huo Yuhao, and even hearing the adult Huo Yuhao call him “Father” irritates him 121 449.

Tang San’s divine position grants authority over the ocean and its inhabitants 193.

• Command over sea life: Sea Soul Masters and sea soul beasts are described as bound to obey him. In the original-story account, his appearance through Sea God’s Descent makes the mermaids submit immediately 193 445.
• Ocean control: His manifestation stills a ten-thousand-meter stretch of the Far North Ice Sea. A swing of his trident raises the seabed into an arena ten thousand meters across 448 449.

Control of the Child of the Plane

At the opening, Tang San has imprisoned the plane will but cannot kill it directly because of the laws of heaven and earth. He therefore plans to control the child it created as its final means of resistance. The child’s eventual ascension is intended to complete the plane will’s destruction 1.

Original-Timeline Counterpart’s Scheme

The Tang San introduced in the Ancient God Ruins is explicitly the God King of the original story’s main timeline. Detecting a threat from another spacetime, he decides it must be eliminated 374.

He joins seven God Kings in activating the Stabilizing Array and sends the God of Emotion Huo Yuhao toward the anomaly. Privately, he plans to exploit the other six God Kings’ injuries, defeat them individually, and absorb their origins to become the supreme “King of God Kings” 378 379.

Divine-Sense Illusion Trap

The reborn Huo Yuhao deliberately draws Tang San into a trap. Electrolux creates an opponent from Tang San’s own demonic thoughts, giving it knowledge of his intentions and techniques 404.

The illusion recreates his former sect, challenges his claim to genius, and subjects him to scenes involving Yu Xiaogang, Xiao Wu, and personal mutilation. These are constructed experiences, not additional historical advancements or permanent injuries to his true body 403 404 405 406.

Far North Ice Sea Confrontation

Tang San manifests through the Sea God Trident when the two Huo Yuhaos meet. He forces them to fight, then turns against both after coveting the Eternal Eye and Buddha’s Fury Fire Lotus technique 447 448 449 451.

His four-god tribulation escalates the confrontation beyond an ordinary duel, bringing divine-level constructs against the combatants 452.

Slaughter Arena and Divine Exposure

After the God of Destruction intervenes, Tang San’s avatar is restricted to Soul King strength. Meanwhile, the God of Destruction broadcasts discussion of Tang San’s history before the assembled gods, exposing his secret resurrection of Huo Yun’er as a knowing breach of divine law 455 456.

In the illusionary Hell Slaughter Arena, Tang San attacks Huo Yuhao from behind with the trident. Huo Yuhao resurrects with Electrolux, whose appearance prompts the visiting God of Emotion to withdraw rather than choose between his teacher and family 458 459.

By the aftermath, the reborn Huo Yuhao has completely devoured the divine sense attached to the trident, turning Tang San’s intervention into a resource for his own growth 462.

Qiankun Asking Love Valley

Tang San continues speaking through the valley from the Divine Realm. Huo Yuhao’s declaration of “great love” reflects values Tang San privately shares, leaving him momentarily speechless before he condemns the declaration as selfishness 555.
