Background / History

Green Yaxin was Jiu Xian’er’s “green leaf” and the guardian of the Nine-Petal Immortal Lotus. Her soul had been damaged, and Jiu Xian’er bestowed defensive spirit runes on her true body to preserve it. Yaxin later explained that these runes allowed her to survive when she otherwise should have followed her master in death 80 104 167.

After Jiu Xian’er fell, the Core Area of Sunset Forest changed drastically, and other soul beasts repeatedly threatened the young Qian Renyue. Jiu Xian’er arranged for her daughter to leave, while Yaxin remained behind for more than ten years awaiting her return. Meeting Qian Renyue restored most of Yaxin’s awareness, and she formally recognized her as the “Young Master” 73 165 167.

Appearance

  • True body: A green vine, capable of shrinking into a small vine for storage in a Soul Tool or manifesting as an enormous vine 74 167.
  • Initial human form: A petite girl in a long green dress, with two braids, fair legs, green eyes containing an emerald-vine pattern, and a teardrop-shaped floral ornament between her brows 73.
  • Little Ya: A childlike form resembling an ordinary human. She lacks Xin’s three-petaled green pupils and visible spirit runes 118.
  • Xin: A tall, slender adult with long green hair, willow-leaf brows, phoenix-shaped eyes containing three green petals, and a waist-cinched dress. She later wears a pale green dress 118 122.

Personality

Yaxin places her duty to Jiu Xian’er and Qian Renyue above her own safety. She addresses Qian Renyue reverently, obeys decisions she personally opposes, and risks her life to stabilize her powers. Her eventual sacrifice fulfills a promise to Jiu Xian’er, despite her affection for Jiang Mo and happiness in the Worship Hall 73 87 110 111 167.

Her loyalty does not make her merciful toward Qian Renyue’s enemies. She despises Tang Hao for stealing Jiu Xian’er’s token and mistreating her daughter, shows little sympathy for Ah Yin’s distress, and brutally interrogates Yu Xiaogang. She also condemns soul beasts who sacrifice themselves for human lovers, particularly when their actions threaten Qian Renyue 87 96 97 161.

The soul split separates contrasting aspects of her character. Little Ya inherits her innocence and playfulness, while Xin retains most of her memories and her more serious personality. Xin develops personal desires beyond her guardian role and hesitates to reunite partly because doing so would end her distinct identity as the woman who bickers with Jiang Mo 118 156.

Abilities & Skills

Green Vine Control

Yaxin manipulates vines for combat, restraint, movement, and protection 118 161 165.

  • Creates thick vines that bind and suspend targets, including Jiang Mo and Xiao Wu 118 122 161.
  • Forms stairways in the air and operates the vine gateways within Sunset Forest’s Core Area 118 165.
  • Uses vines to seal Xiao Wu’s mouth and prevent her attempted Sacrifice 161.
  • Pulls Guang Ling away after the heavenly-tribulation barrier repels him 165.
  • Slashes Heart Demon Yue’s face with a vine before driving her away 167.

Her restraint of Jiang Mo is not proof that she surpasses a rank ninety-six Titled Douluo: Guang Ling explicitly says Jiang Mo could have escaped but chose not to 118.

Concealment, Paralysis, and Intimidation

Xin combines concealment and disabling effects with her vine attacks 118 122.

  • Jiang Mo identifies her ability to turn invisible and paralyze opponents after she catches him off guard 118.
  • Her three-petaled green eyes can inspire terror in Soul Masters below her level 122.
  • The eye skill cannot intimidate someone of Jiang Mo’s rank, and she does not activate it during their confrontation in Jiang Mo Hall 122.

Human Transformation and Soul Split

Her ability to maintain a human body changes substantially over the story 74 96 118.

  • Initially, Jiu Xian’er’s barrier enables her human transformation inside Sunset Forest; she cannot maintain it after leaving 74.
  • By her interrogation of Yu Xiaogang, she can remain human for approximately one hour 96.
  • Splitting into Ya and Xin permits much longer human transformation and prevents others from sensing that she is a seventy-thousand-year soul beast 118.
  • Ya and Xin appear in turns rather than remaining independently present. They share a martial soul and Soul Power but possess different soul skills 118 122 156.

Spirit Runes and Protective Barriers

Jiu Xian’er’s spirit runes preserve Yaxin’s damaged soul and provide defense. Unlike Qian Renyue’s runes, they do not double her Soul Power 104.

  • Creates a green shield that keeps Qian Renyue dry while passing through a waterfall 86.
  • Establishes a Soul Power barrier above the cultivation area in Sunset Forest 165.
  • Her barrier dissipates under the tribulation lightning 165.

Healing and Soul Power Transfer

As an offshoot of the Nine-Petal Immortal Lotus, Yaxin possesses healing abilities, but they are substantially weaker than the lotus’s own 80.

  • Cannot heal Qian Renyue’s internal injuries when the heart’s meridians are damaged 80.
  • Her Soul Power is highly compatible with Qian Renyue’s and can help awaken the power Jiu Xian’er left within her 110 111.
  • Transferring power can consume Yaxin’s life force. Guang Ling intervenes when Qian Renyue begins draining her 110 111.

Soul Detection and Memory Manipulation

Yaxin can sense souls and transmit or remove memories 74 86 87 88.

  • Detects faint traces of Jiu Xian’er’s Soul Power that do not originate from Qian Renyue 74.
  • Confirms that Ah Yin’s soul remains inside her original Blue Silver Grass body 86.
  • Channels an immortal-lotus petal into Ah Yin to restore her human form; the restoration does not return Ah Yin’s former cultivation 87.
  • Transmits witnessed scenes directly into Ah Yin’s mind as evidence of Tang Hao’s actions 87.
  • Erases Ah Yin’s memories after she agrees to join Qian Renyue 88.

Cultivation Knowledge

Yaxin preserves information Jiu Xian’er left concerning the Nine-Petal Immortal Lotus, spirit runes, and divine tests 104 167.

  • Explains the lotus’s three awakenings and the shattering-and-reconstruction process required for its complete form 104.
  • Identifies the danger of cultivating divine runes while surrounded by an aura of slaughter 164.
  • Recognizes the connection between Qian Renyue and her heart demon, while distinguishing her own theories about Qian Renyue’s intentions from confirmed facts 163 164.
  • Explains why Jiu Lan shares Qian Renyue’s life, emotions, and cultivation growth through the transferred life-and-death pact 166.

Curse Mark

Qian Renyue suspects Yaxin’s curse mark is responsible for Yu Xiaogang’s worsening condition. Its mechanism is not explained, and the connection remains her inference 144.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Guang Ling’s Soul Tool — Used for travel and rest when Yaxin cannot remain outside in human form. Qian Renyue borrows it because her own Soul Tool is already filled with immortal herbs 74 97 104.
  • Nine-Petal Immortal Lotus token — Yaxin carries one of the three miraculous petals produced by her master. She uses a petal handed to her by Qian Renyue to restore Ah Yin 87.
  • Qian Renyue’s explosives — Used in repeated sparring with Jiang Mo to test their strength. Xin criticizes Jiang Mo for wasting rare ingredients and making unreliable charges 118 122.
  • Jiang Mo Pestle — Purchased in Heaven Dou City as a gift for Jiang Mo. Before her sacrifice, Yaxin asks Guang Ling to deliver it, but withdraws it after he refuses 167.

Relationships

  • Jiu Xian’er — Master and benefactor who preserved her damaged soul. Yaxin remains committed to their promise that she would help Qian Renyue attain a divine position 104 167.
  • Qian Renyue — Young Master and principal charge. Yaxin accompanies her investigations, advises her cultivation, and ultimately gives her soul to complete her martial soul 73 104 167.
  • Jiang Mo — Sparring companion and romantic interest. Their explosive fights develop into affection; Guang Ling later tells Jiang Mo that Yaxin personally admitted liking him. Jiang Mo misses her deeply but initially doubts that confession 118 122 167 197.
  • Guang Ling — Fellow protector of Qian Renyue. He provides her traveling Soul Tool, stops her life-threatening power transfer, and unsuccessfully urges her to abandon her final sacrifice 74 111 167.
  • Ah Yin / Jiu Lan — Initially treated coldly because of Tang Hao’s betrayal. Yaxin restores her human form, erases her memories with her agreement, and gives her the name Jiu Lan; they subsequently become companions 87 88 117.
  • Little Nine / Little Phoenix — Fellow guardian who warns against her dangerous Soul Power transfer and accompanies her into Sunset Forest’s Core Area 110 111 165.
  • Tang Hao — Enemy whom she blames for stealing her master’s token and nearly starving Qian Renyue as a child. She expresses a desire to kill him herself 87.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Interrogation target whom she whips and discards in a garbage cart after he loses consciousness 96 97.
  • Xiao Wu — Opponent restrained to prevent her sacrificing herself for Tang San. Yaxin condemns both her treatment of Qian Renyue and her willingness to become a human’s sacrifice 161 162.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Joining Qian Renyue

After recognizing Qian Renyue, Yaxin leaves Sunset Forest with her to investigate Jiu Xian’er’s fate. She initially believes the faint Soul Power she senses could mean her master remains alive. During the confrontation with Tang Hao, she looks after the injured Qian Renyue while Guang Ling pursues their enemies, then urges him to seek a healing-type Soul Master 73 74 80.

Discovering Jiu Xian’er’s Fate

Yaxin helps restore Ah Yin so Qian Renyue can question her. She exposes Tang Hao’s theft and mistreatment through transmitted memories, after which Ah Yin reveals that Jiu Xian’er died ten years earlier from exhausting her origin source while nurturing Qian Renyue. When Ah Yin chooses to accompany them, Yaxin erases her memories and names her Jiu Lan 87 88.

Life at Bright Moon Hall

Yaxin interrogates Yu Xiaogang, advises Qian Renyue about spirit-rune cultivation, and suffers the soul split while helping her integrate divine powers. At Bright Moon Hall, Ya and Xin become frequent sparring partners for Jiang Mo. Xin’s growing attachment to him complicates her willingness to reunite with Ya, though her soul is whole again by the confrontation with Xiao Wu 96 104 110 111 118 156 161.

Heavenly Tribulation and Sacrifice

During Qian Renyue’s tribulation in Sunset Forest, Yaxin reveals to Guang Ling that she is the key to opening the Flower God Divine Test—a role she has concealed from Qian Renyue. She refuses to abandon her promise to Jiu Xian’er, despite knowing that her death will hurt both Qian Renyue and Jiang Mo 165 167.

When the Nine-Petal Immortal Lotus shatters during its third awakening, divine runes reconstruct most of it. Yaxin sees that the final portion is unlikely to recover and merges her own soul into the missing piece. The awakening succeeds, while the weakened Qian Renyue remains conscious but unable to stop her sacrifice 167.

Resurrection Plans

Qian Renyue later finds an illustration suggesting that divine-power-infused lotus petals could revive Yaxin and Jiu Lan. Jiang Mo remains uninformed about Yaxin’s death; Qian Renyue tells him she is training and will return within three years 170 204.

Qian Renyue subsequently explains that reviving them would cost her divine power, damage the Flower God lineage a second time, and erase the Flower God divine position from the Divine Realm. She nevertheless intends to proceed and swears to Guang Ling that the method will not endanger her life 217.
