• Supreme Sea: After Xiao Yan’s conversion, the Supreme Sea serves as his Spiritual Power reservoir, fulfilling a role comparable to a Dou Crystal or Origin Core 332.
• Ascender potential: Those who overcome a lower plane’s restrictions are valued for their exceptional potential. Tianhuang notes that few people discriminate against them, although Maha Tian later expresses contempt for ascenders who retain an overlord’s mentality 307 452.

World Will and Sky-Ranking

• Manifestation: The World Will appears to Xiao Yan as the Flame Emperor during the Nine Nether Secret Realm’s third trial, using manifestations condensed from World Power 329.
• Recognition: A complete true name on the Sky-Ranking grants command over World Power. The Immortal Emperor previously left only a surname 329.
• Stated limitation: The World Will initially explains that its power sustains the entire world, making full direct intervention against the calamity destructive to the world itself 330.
• Rejection: Escaping its constraints removes its protection, slows Spiritual Power absorption, and prevents the cultivation of a personal Supreme Dharma Body 331.
• Control through cultivation: The later hostile World Will explains that ordinary cultivators borrow its power at the final breakthrough, leaving them unable to harm it 467.

History

Ancient Invasion

The Extraterritorial Evil Clan invaded tens of thousands of years before Xiao Yan’s arrival. The Immortal Emperor and other defenders repelled the offensive, but half of the Great Thousand World’s territory remained occupied 330.

The Ancient Sacred Abyss was one of the decisive battlefields. Nearly ten Heavenly Sovereigns—including four Saint Grade experts—and more than a dozen enemy Demon Emperors died there. Four of the invading clan’s top fifteen Heavenly Demon Emperors fell in mutual destruction with those four Saint Grade defenders 390.

During this ancient war, a space-time storm brought a demon-possessed Xiao Yan from the future into the battle. He slaughtered combatants on both sides, prompting four Immortal Grade Divine Beast kings to attempt to seal him on the ancient Dou Qi Continent 430.

Xiao Yan’s Arrival and Rise

Xiao Yan ascended with Qingtan, converted his Dou Qi into Spiritual Power, and entered the Nine Nether Sparrow Clan’s territory under Tianhuang’s guidance. There, the World Will warned that destiny interference had removed the three figures originally expected to resist a future calamity and asked Xiao Yan to take their place 306 309 329.

After founding the Endless Fire Domain, Xiao Yan returned as a Saint Grade Heavenly Sovereign and unified the Sky Luo Continent. His victory over the Fire Spirit Clan and reputation as a Saint Grade Grandmaster Alchemist subsequently brought worldwide recognition and new recruits 437 447.

Counteroffensive and Reclamation

Following the Maha Gu Clan’s defeat, Xiao Yan urged the world’s leaders to attack while major enemy leaders were incapacitated. His destruction of the enemy’s Demon Emperor experts enabled the Great Thousand World’s Heavenly Sovereigns to reclaim occupied lands 460 464.

The surviving enemy remnants ceased to pose a major threat. The Great Thousand Palace pursued them across the planes, while Heavenly Sovereigns began purifying reclaimed territories that remained uninhabitable from demonic pollution 465.

Final Crisis and Aftermath

The apparent victory was interrupted by the Heavenly Evil God’s emergence from the Northern Desolate Mound. The hostile World Will admitted that it had once supported Xiao Yan but turned against him after his growth exceeded its control 465 467.

The Universe Will’s impending destruction caused the Great Thousand World to begin collapsing. Xiao Yan halted the collapse by stopping time throughout the universe with the Time Ancestral Symbol 478.

After the Heavenly Evil God’s defeat, Xiao Yan sentenced Zhou Yuan to forty-nine thousand years of torment through reincarnations drawn from the occupation’s victims. He then settled the world’s affairs and left its administration to Yao Lao, who passed the workload to Venerable Feng; Xiao Yan’s children later inherited those responsibilities 479.
