Mysterious Power

Chapter 20: Mysterious Power. Mu Chen and Luo Li stood before the rune-covered stone door, their gazes fixed on the spiritual energy recesses around it as they pondered how to open it. The mysterious power faintly emanating from behind the door drew their senses like a magnet, leaving them both excited and wary. "This power... it feels very strong, but also very dangerous." Luo Li frowned slightly. She could clearly sense the violence and instability within that mysterious power, as though it were an imprisoned ancient beast that might break free of its shackles at any moment. Mu Chen nodded in agreement, a trace of gravity in his eyes. "Exactly. If this power is released and runs out of control, the consequences would be unthinkable. But if we can master it, perhaps it could become a powerful asset in protecting the Spirit Road World." They continued searching around the stone door for clues, hoping to find objects that fit the spiritual energy recesses. On one side of the door, Mu Chen discovered some faded images. Time had eroded them until they were difficult to distinguish, but after examining them carefully, he realized they seemed to depict Spiritual Practitioners placing specific objects into recess-like spaces, after which the stone door opened. "Luo Li, look here." Mu Chen called her over and pointed at the images. "These images might show us how to open the stone door, but we still don't know what these objects look like." Luo Li studied the images closely. She noticed that each depicted object gave off a distinctive glow, some spiraling and others dancing like flames. "These glows might be the key. Perhaps the objects possess special spiritual energy attributes." Just as they racked their brains, another faint ripple of spiritual energy came from within the cave.
