Fatty Xin, unusually, got up early. After washing up, he headed straight for Pedestrian Street. Zheng Qing and Xiao Xiao had not yet finished their morning lessons when the fat wizard found them, carrying breakfast and freshly printed newspapers that still smelled of ink.
"I knew it!"
The plump campus newspaper reporter shook the paper in his hand until it rustled, his face full of indignation. "...The Beta Town Post is nothing but a bunch of gutless cowards with no professional ethics at all! Either don't publish it, or if you do, have the guts to stand by it... Unlike now, where they take back their own words the moment they turn around!"
That sounded rather disgusting.
Frowning, Zheng Qing reached out with two fingers and pinched the newspaper from Xin's hand.
The newest issue of the Beta Town Post had printed a small announcement in a highly conspicuous black box in one corner of its front page—
"At approximately 9:40 p.m. on September 11th (the twenty-third day of the seventh lunar month, the Ji Chou year, Gui You month, Ji Wei day), unidentified wizards distributed materials bearing the masthead 'Beta Town Post Extra Issue' in teaching buildings across certain areas of First University. Following communication between the Post's editorial department and relevant offices, it has been confirmed that these materials were not published by the Beta Town Post, that their contents do not accord with the facts, and that the Post has never issued such an Extra Issue. Students are urged not to believe or spread rumors, to improve their ability to identify false information, and to actively cooperate with the school in tracking down illegal wizards who have infringed upon the Post's reputation and legitimate rights and interests.
