The worlds of Low-level Wizards and High-level Wizards were entirely different.
But Colmar had experience.
To her, traveling from Beta Town North District in the Magic Marsh to First University felt much the same as stepping from the world of Low-level Wizards into that of High-level Wizards.
Obscure jargon she could not understand, prohibitively expensive Magic materials, arrogant noble families, suspicious looks and whispers all around her—every concept belonging to that "other" Wizarding World crashed down upon her like the sea at high tide.
It drenched her to the bone and left her shivering in the cold wind.
Fortunately, she had always been lucky, so she had not ultimately been swept into the Seabed by the tide.
But having studied divination, she knew that luck could not favor her forever. Now, sitting in the dim light of Sakura Tavern and listening to Rat Immortal's rambling voice, the witch felt this more strongly than ever—Monteria's attack on her might have been a warning from fate.
So she had to be more cautious.
Just like now.
Her intuition told her that the fat rat before her was steering the conversation toward a dangerous area. Perhaps he meant no harm and was merely hinting that she should seize certain opportunities, but Colmar, who had visited Sanyou Bookstore, knew she most likely had no such opportunity. And when it was connected to the words "the principal's whereabouts," it was simply too dangerous.
Even a Legendary Wizard like Rat Immortal could lose his life through a moment of carelessness.
She could not live only for herself.
As the Archwizard of the North District and the dean of Edge Academy, she would always have to consider more than others... and then a little more. As Heraclitus had said, no one could step into the same river
