"Gasp! Did you—"
Yellow Calico Cat spun its head around in alarm to look at Zheng Qing, but its voice abruptly cut off.
Because it clearly saw that a pale golden, slowly revolving Wisdom Halo had appeared behind Zheng Qing's head as well. The rays spilling from those halos were likewise being dragged by the "little balls" outside the window, growing longer and finer.
Like strands of glue drawn from molten adhesive, one end linked to its thoughts while the other plunged into the depths of that blank expanse. Countless threads flowed endlessly, thickening and growing denser.
As the threads stretched and became fixed in place, the tracks outside the window deepened and turned more dazzling. The aura of the Wisdom Halo and that dense "forest of auras" outside the window were thoroughly "woven" together.
While the calico was examining them.
The rolling "little balls" continued to "spin thread."
The cat withdrew its gaze.
Following the rays emitted by the halo, it looked out the window again.
A strange yet gentle pulling force came from those filaments of light, giving the cat a powerful premonition—if it kept watching, this thought of its would soon be forcibly dragged out of Three-Has Bookstore by those threads and fall into that boundless, incomprehensible high-dimensional blankness.
Even worse, those threads might follow the dimension of karma and cling to its True Self.
That would be an unforgivable disaster.
The feeling could not be described in words or deduced through logic.
Yet it was undeniably real.
It made all the soft fur on the back of its neck stand on end.
Just as Yellow Calico Cat came alert.
This thought of Zheng Qing's also clearly realized that if it were tugged by those rays, pulled out of the bookstore, and dropped into the endless blankness
