Chapter 3424: Geometric Differentiation
Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!
A barrage of impacts, as dense as rain striking plantain leaves, replaced the previous sluggish, muffled thuds and interrupted Zheng Qing and the Yellow Calico Cat's discussion of whether to leave or stay.
Man and cat once again poked their heads out together to look through the window.
Then they discovered that the "balls" had changed shape.
Separated by a pane of glass.
The balls were exceptionally clear.
Originally, they had been about the size of soccer balls, semi-transparent throughout, possessing a strange texture somewhere between Amber and Glazed Ware. Their interiors were not empty; countless hair-thin streams of vital energy flowed within, identical to the innumerable strands in the blank space outside. They seemed to reflect that dense "forest of vital energy" beyond, where vitality and deathly intent coexisted, intertwined and transformed into one another like some eternal cycle.
But now.
The countless streams of vital energy within the balls suddenly burst forth, extending beyond their spherical surfaces. They resembled translucent sea urchins, or thousand-armed giants, swinging hundreds and thousands of slender arms as they hammered the bookstore walls again and again.
Crackle! Pop!
Crack! Crack! Pop! Pop!
Meanwhile, the streams that had not extended beyond the spheres flickered with uncertain points of light within their translucent shells, like hundreds of eyes opening.
The marvelous structure was an eye-opener for Zheng Qing.
It was truly breathtaking.
Unfortunately, no matter how they changed, the bookstore walls did not budge in the slightest. Not even a flake of plaster showed any sign of falling away. Those "arms" smashing against the walls—or rather, Zheng Qing felt they were more like "tentacles"—those flowing streams of vital energy, the instant they touched the walls, seemed to strike the spell-light of a "Viper Curse" and flopped softly
