A villager stepped into the iron cage. The burly man locked it, then covered it with a black cloth. "Now comes the moment to witness a miracle!"
The burly man made a show of muttering a few mysterious incantations, then gripped the black cloth with both hands and gave it a hard yank. The cloth came away, but the villager inside had vanished.
"Bravo!"
"Bravo!"
The villagers clapped and cheered, marveling at such a spectacular performance.
The burly man spun the black cloth into the air again. Like a sheet of cloth spread across the sky, it drifted down, actually forming a square outline.
He lifted the black cloth, and the villager from before reappeared.
For a moment, the surrounding villagers chattered excitedly, praising the utterly incredible performance.
Luo Yan and the Female Emperor remained calm. Even the weakest members of this performance troupe were cultivators of the Dao Palace Secret Realm. Moving a living person from one place to another was child's play for them.
Their tricks were more than enough to fool ordinary people who had never embarked on cultivation, but before these two, they were as crude as a child's games.
"Would anyone else like to come up and try?"
"Me! Me! Me!" Ye Nannan shouted from Luo Yan's back, seemingly unable to resist such a novel amusement.
"All right, let's have that adorable little girl!" The burly man smiled faintly and pointed at Ye Nannan, perched on Luo Yan's shoulders.
Luo Yan said calmly, "Make sure nothing goes wrong. If anything does... things won't end well."
"Rest assured, brother. We'll certainly keep your daughter safe!" he said, completely missing the warning in those words-or perhaps he heard it and simply paid it no mind.
Ye Nannan pouted and corrected him very seriously. "He's not my father!
