Power Progression

The Sea of Inheritance develops through energy absorption and internal evolution rather than named cultivation ranks.

Background / History

An unnamed Evil Soul Master fled Spirit Hall’s pursuit and reached the ocean while researching the limits of human evolution. With his body and soul approaching collapse, he sacrificed himself to the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, asking the whale to preserve a strand of his consciousness so that he could observe its evolutionary journey 15.

Following his guidance, the whale opened the Sea of Inheritance and devoured sea soul beasts on a massive scale while pursuing dragon transformation. Much of its soul power and spiritual power sustained this inner realm and nurtured the prospective sacred embryo. The research ended when the Sea God blinded the whale and the aftershock of Sea God’s Light dispersed the researcher’s remaining soul 15.

The realm survived the whale’s death because the internal attack involving the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Spring prevented it from drawing on the Whale Pearl’s power. Ren Tao inherited that intact foundation, later completing his reception of the whale’s abilities inside the sea 15.

The Evil Soul Master’s Findings

The researcher’s recorded theory specifies three requirements for ultimate evolution:

• A fully human foundation—“absolutely human.”
• The bloodline of a super soul beast.
• Energy as vast as the heavens and the sea. 15

He argued that strength alone could not overcome the world’s restrictions on soul beasts, and that even a completed dragon transformation would not make the whale equal to a god. Ren Tao understood these findings as the explanation for why he could initiate super evolution where the whale had stalled 15.

Access and Consciousness

• Ren Tao can enter the realm repeatedly; it is not a one-time hallucination 14.
• Passing through its outer mist causes his manifested body to dissolve as he returns to reality 15.
• Other consciousnesses can enter through a connection with him. The Devouring Golden Threads bring the Sea Witch inside, while allies connect their consciousnesses before Abhorrence refinement 38 39.
• If Ren Tao loses consciousness, the sea closes and expels visitors, as happened when Shui Ling’er accidentally electrocuted him 39.
• Entry is not universally compulsory: Ren Tao states that he cannot bring Qian Renxue inside if she is unwilling 97.

Evolution and Energy Supply

• Greater energy reserves allow the sea to expand toward the capacity needed to nurture the sacred embryo 15.
• Its inherited reserves are finite. Ren Tao must obtain more genes and energy rather than depend indefinitely on the whale’s gift 16.
• The second-stage renovation permits evolutionary use of genes from dead organisms 30.
• After reconstruction, insufficient energy and “genetic data” accompany its loss of evolutionary direction. Ren Tao considers replenishing it with seafood, but this is proposed rather than established as a successful repair 72.

Reverse Decoding and Divine-Power Refinement

• Its spiritual connection guides Ren Tao toward decoding newly acquired divine power 29.
• Reverse Decoding decomposes the Sea God’s will surrounding the Abhorrence Brand’s divine-power core 39.
• The sea dissolves minute traces released during extraction. Ren Tao then suppresses the refined curse with forbidden power to create Soul Breaking Spears 39.
• Ren Tao cannot fully decode Sea God power at this stage; possessing divine power himself is necessary for his successful work on the brand 39.
• When Asura power is decoded, its killing intent separates into evil thoughts—including pride, envy, greed, and wrath—which the Red Crystal absorbs 51.

Internal Combat and Manifestation

• Waves and whirlwinds attack Tang Chen inside the realm, helping Ren Tao corrode and weaken him 50.
• Ren Tao can change his manifested form without limit within the Sea of Inheritance 62.
• His will can merge with the entire realm without maintaining a bodily manifestation, allowing him to confront the Asura God with its collective power behind him 51.
• Its protections are not absolute: an unknown power cuts Ren Tao off from it during the Tang Chen battle, and the Angel God later tears it away from his will 50 63.

Giant Kun Imprint

• Giant Kun is the inheritance’s sole imprint, activated through spiritual requirements rather than material acquisition alone 76.
• It distinguishes Ren Tao’s instinctive Devour from the Evil Soul Master’s genetic decoding ability and directs him to complete the researcher’s unfinished path 76.
• It fights the Evil God within the sea and helps Ren Tao escape with part of that god’s consciousness 82.
• Ren Tao can channel its power outward through whale calls to oppose the Sea God’s Unfixed Wind Waves. This cannot be sustained indefinitely: once he cannot continue calling, the defense fails 86.
• Giant Kun describes itself as part of Ren Tao and warns him not to expect independent answers merely because it can voice his own thoughts 87.

Divine-Essence Link

• Devouring Qian Renxue’s divine essence leaves a miniature, winged version of her inside a golden pearl in the sea 97.
• Her essence merges with Ren Tao’s divine sense, creating a telepathic connection through the miniature “Little Qian” 97.
• Giant Kun refuses to swallow this manifestation 97.

Major Events

Inheritance Records

Ren Tao finds a drift bottle on the shore containing the Evil Soul Master’s memories, experiments, and evolutionary conclusions. Its final remnant becomes a corroded black trident mark in his consciousness, demonstrating that the Sea God’s Abhorrence can be eroded or devoured 15.

A drift bottle appears again after the realm’s reconstruction, preserving further notes concerning creation and destruction 72.

Divine Intrusions and Destruction

The fused God King Marks allow the Asura God to manifest inside the sea after Ren Tao absorbs Tang Chen’s power. The marks survive the consumption of the surrounding Asura divine power 51.

A closed loop between the divine senses of Ren Tao, Qian Daoliu, and Qian Renxue subsequently draws Qian Renxue inside. Her presence brings out the Angel God, whose assault causes the sea to collapse and shatter into blood clouds 62 63. Ren Tao cannot enter it for the following few months 72.

Later, touching the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s black pearl brings the Evil God’s consciousness into the realm. The god traps Ren Tao there; the ensuing escape splits Ren Tao’s soul while Giant Kun holds back part of the intruder 81 82.

Reconstruction and Search for Repair

The sea summons Ren Tao after an emotional release and returns as the Desolation Sea. Although it is now wholly his own, its uncontrolled evolutionary sequence could produce a supercreature or a catastrophe. Ren Tao fears losing his human appearance, sanity, or stable existence 72.

Giant Kun identifies completion of the Evil Soul Master’s unfinished path as the route to repair 76. Memories uncovered in Spirit Hall’s forbidden library later reveal the White Seed’s journey into the ocean. Ren Tao senses its pulse through the water element and considers it a possible means of restoring the sea 98.
