The next morning, Lin Feng gained another Breakthrough Point.
Although Basic Swordplay was Low-grade Martial Arts, it only took one Breakthrough Point to get started.
Lin Feng wanted to add a point directly to Basic Swordplay.
But after thinking it over, he decided to wait until it was almost a month before adding a point to Basic Swordplay.
If he mastered Basic Swordplay today, it would be a little too heaven-defying—there would be no way to explain it. Even geniuses had to have their limits.
Even if he added points to Basic Swordplay without telling Mr. Hong, it would not be safe.
If Mr. Hong asked him to demonstrate it, he would be exposed.
When Lin Feng got up to practice that morning, little Sibao also got up blearily.
The little fellow actually remembered that he was supposed to rise early and practice.
Seeing Lin Feng, little Sibao said, "Daddy, teach me real kung fu."
Seeing how determined little Sibao was, Lin Feng brought him along to practice Beast Hunting Fist.
Lin Feng's grasp of Beast Hunting Fist had already reached the realm where art returned to simplicity. If he taught others to practice Beast Hunting Fist, he could keep them from taking even the slightest detour and save them years of training.
Lin Feng asked his mother to make more food.
For the next couple of days, he had to eat more so his injuries could heal faster.
After breakfast, Lin Feng began tinkering with the wheelchair again.
As Mother Lin passed by, she asked, "Feng, you've been working on that chair with wheels for half a month now. When will it be finished?"
"It'll be done by noon. Once it's finished, I'll deliver it to Mr. Hong."
Before noon arrived, Lin Feng had finished making the wheelchair. He pushed it around the courtyard twice, then sat in it himself to get a feel for it.
Not bad. It was quite stable.
The greatest difficulty in making the wheelchair was the wheels. He could only make them out of wood, but fortunately, the wood in this world was sturdy enough.
Lin Feng carried the wheelchair on his shoulder and headed for Mr. Hong's home. Before leaving, he specifically told his mother that he would not be coming back for lunch.
On the way, Lin Feng ran into Aunt Lin.
Aunt Lin asked curiously, "Feng, what are you carrying?"
"Auntie, this is a chair I made for Mr. Hong."
"You really put your heart into taking care of Mr. Hong. No wonder he's teaching the children of your family to read."
Lin Feng soon arrived outside Mr. Hong's courtyard gate.
Knock, knock. Lin Feng rapped on the door twice, and the maid Yue'e opened it for him.
Seeing him carrying a strange-looking chair, Yue'e asked, "Big Brother Lin Feng, what are you carrying? It looks like a chair."
"Haha, this is a good thing. It's a wheelchair I made especially for Mr. Hong."
Lin Feng went inside, found Mr. Hong, and said with a smile, "Sir, I made you a wheelchair. Give it a try."
Mr. Hong was somewhat puzzled. "What is a wheelchair?"
"I'll let you try it, and you'll understand."
Lin Feng carried Mr. Hong out into the courtyard on his back, placed him in the wheelchair, and pushed him around the courtyard twice.
"This chair can move." Lin Feng released his hands again. "Sir, place your hands on the round wheels at both sides and push forward. The chair will move on its own."
Mr. Hong followed Lin Feng's instructions, and the chair indeed began to move.
It was Yue'e's first time seeing a wheelchair, and she was immensely curious. If Mr. Hong had not been sitting on it, she would have wanted to try it herself.
"This chair is so interesting. Big Brother Lin Feng, how did you think of making a chair with wheels?"
"Didn't I want Mr. Hong to get out and move around more? I thought about it for a long time before coming up with it."
Mr. Hong's face was full of smiles. He was very satisfied with the wheelchair, and a warm current flowed through his heart. "Feng, you've put a lot of thought into this."
Lin Feng said with a smile, "It's only right, it's only right."
Mr. Hong could tell that this wheelchair was not something that could be made in a day or two. The seat cushion and backrest were both wrapped in fur, and every aspect had been considered thoroughly.
Lin Feng must have spent quite a bit of time making it.
Yue'e said, "Big Brother Lin Feng, you're really clever. Stay here for lunch. I'll stew a pot of meat for you."
Mr. Hong looked at Lin Feng and said, "Your complexion is much better. Your injuries should be mostly fine now. But you still need to consolidate your recovery, lest hidden injuries remain.
"Yue'e has taken out the healing medicine and placed it on the table. Go take three pills yourself."
"Thank you, sir."
Lin Feng went into the room and took another three healing pills.
These healing pills were extremely effective. They definitely were not the sort of medicine one could casually get from a pharmacy in the County Town. They must have been very precious.
After taking the healing medicine, Lin Feng chatted with Mr. Hong for a while.
Mr. Hong then had him demonstrate the Basic Swordplay he had learned yesterday once more.
Fortunately, he had not added points to Basic Swordplay that morning.
Lin Feng demonstrated it once, and Mr. Hong nodded.
"It seems you went back and practiced diligently. You haven't forgotten anything at all. You must continue practicing diligently in the future."
After returning home, Lin Feng had not actually practiced Basic Swordplay even once. With the system's support, no matter what martial art it was, once he saw it once, he would never forget it.
After lunch at Mr. Hong's house, Lin Feng headed home.
On the road, he checked his attribute panel.
His Life attribute had recovered to fifteen.
If he got some more food, it could recover to eighteen.
Lin Feng returned home, took a fishing net, and went to the small stream east of the village.
He planned to eat more prawns and restore his Life to full.
After eating around a hundred prawns, Lin Feng checked his attribute panel again.
He discovered that his Life attribute had risen to nineteen.
Lin Feng froze. What was going on?
How had his Life exceeded eighteen? Could it be that the Breakthrough Points directly added to his Life attribute while he was injured could permanently increase his Life attribute?
Lin Feng continued eating. Sure enough, his Life attribute rose to twenty.
After he continued eating, his Life attribute stopped increasing. It seemed that even while injured, the Breakthrough Points added to his Life attribute would permanently raise his Life.
Lin Feng's digestion had also returned to normal. His belly was round from eating, and he could not swallow another bite.
Burp, burp. Lin Feng let out several full belches.
If I'd known I couldn't digest it all, I would have eaten less.
Lin Feng caught another fish basket full of river prawns and returned home.
After putting the fishing gear and river prawns at home, he secretly went to Wang Shanxiong's house again.
Wang Shanxiong was a Flower Picking Bandit on the wanted list. There was no way he had only ten taels of silver.
Wang Shanxiong had practiced so many martial arts. No matter what, he should have had a few Martial Arts Manuals.
Today, he had to find something.
Lin Feng first searched Wang Shanxiong's bedroom. He checked beneath the pillow, beneath the bed boards, under the bed, and inside the cabinets.
In the end, he only found some junk like clothes and shoes.
He searched both the main house and the side rooms, but found nothing at all.
That was not right.
There had to be something. He simply had not discovered it.
Lin Feng decided to be more forceful. Perhaps the good things were hidden inside some secret compartment.
Lin Feng first dismantled Wang Shanxiong's bed, then kicked Wang Shanxiong's cabinet to pieces.
Even Wang Shanxiong's stove was dismantled by Lin Feng.
Lin Feng was not worried that doing this would cause any problems.
Once he collected the reward silver with Wang Shanxiong's head in hand, he would set Wang Shanxiong's house on fire.
By then, no traces would remain.
Lin Feng searched for quite a while. It felt as though most of the food in his stomach had already been digested, yet he still found nothing.
Lin Feng walked into Wang Shanxiong's courtyard and sat on a stone stool beside the stone table to rest.
Out of habit, Lin Feng tapped the stone table with his fingers.
Thump, thump.
Lin Feng's eyes lit up. The underside of this stone table was hollow.
