Shen Yue treats noble ancestry, wealth, and cultivation talent as proof of superiority. He mocks commoners’ inability to afford demon spirits, laughs at Nie Li’s low initial soul force, and calls Nie Li and his friends “lowborn” when challenged. Praise for the Sacred Family and envy from classmates visibly please him 2 3 16.

His jealousy over Ye Ziyun repeatedly overrides his judgment. Although he initially avoids bullying Nie Li in her presence, he later loses control before a crowd and orders his followers to beat Nie Li to death. Defeat does not end his hostility: he returns after being terrified into fleeing, then encourages another confrontation through Chu Yuan 17 21 33 38.

Despite his outward arrogance, he recognizes his limited importance within his own family. As an unremarkable son among Shen Hong’s seven sons, he believes he must rely on his aunt and eldest brother for support 51.

His confidence depends heavily on the Sacred Family’s protection. When captured by the Dark Guild, he initially panics, but regains his swagger after invoking his family and being left unharmed under guard. He interprets this treatment as proof that even the Dark Guild fears the Sacred Family 54.

At the institute’s assessment, he volunteers first to attract attention and deliberately bumps Lu Piao’s shoulder after receiving his results. Lu Piao’s much higher strength scores leave him shocked and protesting that such strength is impossible 79. In the present timeline, imprisonment leaves him distressed at being forced to watch his earlier arrogance replayed on the Sky Screen 76.
