The Star Dou Great Forest was very quiet at night. Huo Yuhao sat beside the fire, keeping watch alone, though he was very puzzled as to why the Evil Lord and the others had yet to arrive.
Meanwhile, the Evil Lord and his group were flying above the Star Dou Great Forest. They could have arrived during the day, but a few things had happened on the way. They had wandered around the nearby towns, mainly to eat. In the minds of Soul Beasts, time was plentiful. A few hours more or less made about as much difference to them as taking one breath or two, so neither the Ice Empress nor the Snow Empress, nor even the Evil Lord, had paid it any mind.
The Evil Lord had, however, paid some attention to the others' appetites. When they went out to eat in town, A-Jin and A-Hua-the Golden Crocodile King and the Demon Flower Mantis King-were all right.
Their appetites were a little excessive, but the Evil Lord could understand them. There was nothing unusual about the Ice Empress, the Snow Empress, or Tian Meng. It was mainly the Sea Princess who had briefly left him feeling "drenched in cold sweat."
Although the Evil Lord considered his own appetite quite large, the Sea Princess basically needed to eat twice as much as all six of the others combined to satisfy hers. Moreover, she had that kind of appetite at every meal, which had at one point made the Evil Lord and the Snow Empress wonder whether the Ocean was suffering a famine.
Still, none of that amounted to much. They continued eating and drinking as they traveled, only realizing it was getting a little late when the sun was about to set. Now they were flying toward Huo Yuhao.
