"I honestly don't get what's so great about ice cream. Why do even these Mythical Pokémon love it so much?"
Steven sounded rather bemused.
He had tried ice cream himself, but he thought it tasted pretty average.
So why did Mew and Jirachi love it so much?
"Because ice cream really is delicious!" Diantha chimed in.
Cynthia nodded earnestly. "Exactly. Ice cream really is delicious."
Chen Shi and Steven looked at Diantha in surprise.
Cynthia was one thing.
Everyone knew she loved ice cream.
She even frequently agonized over which flavor to get.
But neither of them had expected Diantha to be so fond of it too.
That came as something of a surprise.
Chen Shi patted Steven on the shoulder and teased, "Do you know why you don't have a girlfriend and can't win over any Mythical Pokémon?"
"Why?" Steven's expression darkened.
It might be true, but why did it sound so grating?
Was he showing off?
"Because Devon Corporation doesn't have any ice cream shops!" Chen Shi laughed.
Diantha and Cynthia both laughed at that.
"Oh, get lost!" Steven shot back. "If opening ice cream shops could win over Legendary Pokémon, believe me, I could cover the entire world in them!"
"Damn you, you filthy rich bastard! I despise you!"
"And I despise you, you incubus of the Legendary Pokémon World!"
Neither was willing to back down.
They mocked each other from head to toe.
Cynthia and the others seemed used to it. They ignored the pair and carried on eating.
The Pokémon were another matter, watching the fun while they ate.
After everyone had spent a while joking and messing around, Chen Shi stood up, his gaze sharpening.
"All right, time to get down to business!"
"Let's smash the Guardian Pillar and get Victini out first."
